Strong nomination for Zelda: Ocarina of Time "Ganonless". Shows tricks missing from the any% and 100% categories and is both entertaining and well-made. http://tasvideos.org/4121S.html Speaking of Zelda, LoZ "all items" should probably be removed from Gruefood Delight because the run was redone and has now been accepted. Isn't the point in Gruefood Delight to host rejected movies that show off stuff you won't see in any publication?

Good nomination! It has been added. And thanks for catching that error; LoZ "all items" did not belong on the page and has been removed.

I was browing through GFD and I found that on hacks/homebrews, the video for NES Hard Relay Mario no longer exists. Perhaps someone still has a movie on his hard drive that could be re-uploaded?

Actually, it turns out there was an encode put on Dailymotion by Critical five when he was actively encoding Gruefood submissions (which I want to thank him for, as most of the encodes on Gruefood Delight are from his collection), so I went ahead and replaced the removed YouTube video with the Dailymotion one. I also added Pokémon Gold "Mr. Pi's TAS", Super Road Blaster, and Superfast Mario Bros.

CoolKirby, I noticed this a few times before, but I noticed again with your recent additions: in my opinion, your movie descriptions are a bit too bland and negative. They pretty much just enumerate the reasons the runs were rejected, instead of explaining what makes them actually interesting, or adding a bit of excitement and/or humor to the descriptions. (Look at most of the current entries, especially many of the older ones). That'd make them a bit more fun to read.

I would like to say though CoolKirby, that many of your publication descriptionsexpansions are pretty good, and greatly appreciated!

Oh man, my bad. I don't know if I even realized I was doing that. I will fix those soon (though I can't right now). I did try to do something more positive with Superfast Mario Bros. though — is that more how I should word my other descriptions?

Humor might indeed be a good approach at these.

I noticed the Superfast Mario Bros. one is a bit verbose and technical, especially compared to the other two Mario hack descriptions above it, whose brevity makes this description stand out. The whole second sentence seems unnecessary, in my opinion. (Also, it's not an autoscroller.) Personally, I'd have written it as something like this: "A Mario hack in which Mario zooms forward so fast, the game can just barely keep up without breaking completely. Gotta go fast!" EDIT: Also, I moved the Mr. Pi entry to Alternate Goals. Pi Day is not the same as April Fools' Day.

Hmm, Gruefood Delight seems a pretty heavy page for my browser. Maybe it is due to the high number of embedded videos? Many frames could be saved by optimizing the page somehow.

I totally agree. I also think that humorous approach helps in pretty much any situation. It is not always easy to achieve, but it is a very powerful "overall approach."

Per this post I'd like to nominate 4563S (Super Mario Bros. Enhanced) and 3273S (Kaizo Mario World 2) for Gruefood Delight under the "Hacks/Homebrews" tab. Quoting from the original post:
Zowayix wrote:
For the former, it fits in about the same way as Full Moon Mario on that page, being a run that itself isn't bad at all in terms of optimal play but uses a not-very-noteworthy hack. The latter is almost self-explanatory; Kaizo 1's already there.

Thanks Zowayix. I added your requests as well as some game and group links, and removed Hard Relay Mario as an improved run has since been published. I also changed several of my descriptions to make them more positive and/or humorous. Thank you, Mothrayas et al., for the constructive criticism and praise, and let me know if any descriptions could be further improved.

Right now, if someone clicks on this topic, goes to the first post and clicks on the link in the first post, it's dead. Could a mod edit it to point to the new location of Gruefood Delight?

Another nomination: #4252: Masterjun's SNES Super Mario World "11 exits" in 08:07.53, under April Fools. Abuses rule/category definitions and fits under the "delight" part of "Gruefood Delight" in just about every way.

Can we stick Malleoz's TTYD run in here, at least until the new version he's working on is published?

If Pokemon Plays Twitch isn't Gruefood Delight, I don't know what is.

Can I humbly request 2828S be added to gruefood delight? #2828: scrimpeh's NES Castlevania "no subweapons, no damage" in 13:18.44 I know the movie's like 6 years old at this point, and it stinks to suggest your own movies, but I submitted the run with the hopes of making Gruefood Delight, even if it couldn't get published. Several people in the discussion thread had also provided positive feedback on the run and, indeed, suggested the run go to Gruefood Delight.

I added Pokémon Plays Twitch, scrimpeh's run, and all the April Fool's suggestions. I also tried to clean up the page a bit. We still need to do something about the large amount of video embeds at some point, as they put quite a load on weaker devices.

I suggest that #3080: ais523's DOS NetHack "fastest death" in 00:01.15 be added to Gruefood Delight, given the huge amount of luck manipulation required to get this zero-turn kill.

It's already on there, and has been there for at least a year.

That's odd, the thread in Gruefood is listed as created on 2016-04-07. But yes, you are correct.

That happens when submission threads get edited. Not sure why it happens, but it does. Anyway, speaking of April Fools submissions, any suggestions from this year's set of April Fools submissions for Gruefood Delight?
