510 frames faster than the last version. 495 of those frames are because of the GreenaLink's observation. Thanks, GreenaLink!

Truncated: Accepted because I like it and it's good! And also it's an improvement to a published movie.
ShinyDoofy: Withholding publication until the .gmv file has been replaced by the improved one.

adelikat: Replaced submission file with a 42 frames faster version. A new trick was discovered in level 7 leading to the improvement.

In the second to last stage, after the drill arm miniboss you hobble along for quite a while, it looked like you could have afforded to use the burner a bit more there?

The important thing is to make sure the burner is never allowed to stay full, and to use it up just before a boss, waiting area, or refill item. So it doesn't matter that the gauge gets a little high as long as it doesn't get full. (The regen rate is constant.)

I redid the first part of level 5 (the moving platform level) and reached the first boss encounter ~40 frames faster. I had to wait longer for that battle to begin so most of the gains were lost. (Seems to be a frame rule in effect.) I also redid a couple other places that gained 0 frames.

The burner is quite tough to use effectively in a TAS like Level 3/6 because you are only going in 1 direction and it's isn't obvious if using the burner in Area A is better than Area B (and vice versa). The mini burner boosts were optimised. There is a trick I've found in mission 7 but it might not save any frames because of the position at the end. In the Tetris block area when they are blinking to dissappear you can do a Burner boost Down to get inside every time it blinks, how fast it is to get out to the other side, depends on the burner fuel you have left and stuff for the rest of the level. But if it is faster then you might need to optimise your fuel for the rest of the level.

Tried it. It worked. I did something a little different and made it though in a single blink without using down+burner. I am requesting that the submission file be updated. Since there have been zero votes as of now, it shouldn't be a problem?

Only one rating so far? I'll go ahead and make it two. Other than the annoying jumping in the first couple of levels, this is a solid platformer movie. I enjoyed the variety of weapons and antics during the autoscroller levels. Giving this a solid 6.7 for entertainment, and 7.8 for technical.

It looks like I'm the only one other than Dammit and the posters on here that know this game well. The game wasn't Sonic the Hedgehog like popular but a lost, cult classic. It's also my first time voting a game which I did a week ago (no I wasn't a fanboy and gave 10 on both of them). I had a thought about it and my experience with the game. I know Jumping is annoying but it's strangely faster than Walking (opposite to Megaman without the slide). The useage with the burner on the waiting parts were well used and so was the weapons (like mmbossman said). I think I gave entertainment an 8 or a 7 because of the crazy ninja-esque movement to avoid dying. I think i gave technical a 9 (it's my first time voting) because it used all of the tricks that I knew of on my past ESWAT TAS work except the good useage of P.C against the bosses. You may critise me if my votes were too high but I knew this game before I was 6 years old.

Anyone else having trouble with this file? It's crashing every player I try to view it with. Tried to convert it from MKV to something else (with a new program, so it might be my problem), and I got an "unsupported audio codec" failure.

feitclub, the video codec is x264, audio codec ogg vorbis (64 kbps). Maybe you need a codec pack of some sort. Media Player Classic is reported to play my mkv files just fine.

Well, I'll keep fooling around with it, but I've watched scores of TAS videos before and this is the first one that crashed my video player. Maybe it's something to do with the new MKV format, although I did watch the Mischief Makers video and that's an MKV as well. But clearly, it's my problem...

It's possible there is an error in the MKV, but other media players/ codecs are handling it more gracefully than what you are using. depending on you're using, you might consider updating your media player or codecs or if it's the latest version, submit a bug report to them along with the mkv.

How slow is this load where lethargic jumping is an improvement? Great entertainment in the first autoscrolling segment. Game's sound is pretty good.

Sorry to bump, but I stumbled upon this movie when going randomly, and I found out during editing that the game's title is published wrong. Technically, the game is E-SWAT: City Under Siege. I left a TODO in the main movie page, since I'm not a Vested Editor. I hope that's alright. In any case, this is the only game in this series for the Megadrive / Genesis, so if someone just wants to delete the TODO, that should probably be ok.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. This is the place to point out errors like that, so there is no need to be sorry. I have fixed it. Thank you.
