Much better than the previous efforts I'll give it a 'yes' vote.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find these types of fighter runs to be interesting in the slightest. I also fail to see the point, or difficulty, in controlling two characters fighting each other. The only time I've seen that idea work was here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLRzDQo4BPg&feature=channel_page.

you're comparing a different style of fighting, and of game also. Here is Street Fighter SNES = /. Do not confuse

Who said a TAS has to show skill? Who said they have to be hard to make? By the statements of this site as a whole, how hard or easy it is to make a TAS is completely irrelevant to how good the run is. Do you find the Gradius runs as lame? They're easier than hell to do! These runs LOOK good, and they show off a lot about the game (especially if you're versed in the mechanics of the game, it's a blast to watch)

So both of you quoted me, yet neither of you actually seem to grasp the most important part of my post: I don't find these types of fighter runs to be interesting in the slightest. I watched it, found it to be quite boring, I voted no, end of story.

Not true. Not for Gradius III anyway, I can't speak for any other Gradius game.

So what you're suggesting is that there should only be one option in the poll, YES vote, because if I watch the run and don't like it, I didn't understand and shouldn't vote no? I'm not trying to harm you, I'm only posting my opinion about the run, which is what the judges want.

I agree with Comicalflop. Fighting games are fun because of the mindgames, and TASing them, unless they contain interesting glitches--like the MK series movies here--or crazy-ridiculous who'd-have-known-it-was-possible combo-type action, is rather silly. I was going to say 'borderline masturbatory' but then I remembered I haven't mentioned the phenomenon of fighting against oneself yet.

Why did you use the Japenese version? I liked it better then the current ssf2 runs on site but I think it has a lot of room for improvement. Because your doing 2 player I would have liked to see some advanced strategies, like safe jump ins or instant overheads. Anyway am not going to vote until I see a reason you used a different version then whats already published.

I enjoyed watching the movie, but things like this are so subjective, I do not think it should be published outside of concept demos. There is nothing objectively perfect about this video. I voted no under the assumption that this would be published similar to Saturn's old videos (which I also think don't deserve publishing outside of concept demos). The only SSF2 video I would want to see published normally does the following: -Beats the game the fastest, whichever character that happens to be, on hardest difficulty with highest speed -Takes speed into account over entertainment

Comicalflop is entitled to his own opinion you know. My vote was only a weak yes vote. In other words "It's Publishable" even though the 2p action is sub standard and fails to create situations which are unlikely against a CPU or another player.

"Why did you use the Japenese version?" is only a matter of taste my http://tasvideos.org/Rules.html#UseTheCorrectVersion your supposed to use U rom unless there is a good reason not to. Your also supposed to use the same rom as any currently published movie.

I don't find this more entertaining just because you control the two characters at the same time. I know indeed how hard it is to do so my self, so it has nothing to do with the technique you use. I just don't see the point in clearing the game like that, even though you get to use all characters. Sorry, but this is a NO-vote.

A no-vote from me on this for not being very interesting. Two player control is pretty much the only upside to it.

Oh no, not 16 minutes of this. I think this is actually worse than the previous one (which got a meh vote from me), so voted no.

Hmm, why did this end up at the gruefood so fast? Did people even compare it to the two published runs? This run is significantly more entertaining than either of them, as it shows off a lot more different characters, and the 2-player matches were a lot more entertaining than the single player matches also. There might be games that are a lot better suited for creating an entertaining TAS than this game... but I don't see any reason why this TAS shouldn't obsolete both published SF2 TASes...
