• Emulator used: VisualBoyAdvance 1.7.2 re-rerording v21+
  • Aims for fastest time.
  • Takes damage to save time.
  • No luck manipulation.
  • Genre: Platform and Shooter
About the game:
The fight with Batman and Joker in the Gotham city is collected in this game.
This game is very simple and not too difficult. So we can play this game easily.
About the run:
  • In platform stages, I played to advance right as fast as possible.
    • Batman sometimes stiffens 1 frame when he lands. I removed all these losses.
  • VS Jack and Joker stages, I choose the weapon of "W" to shoot his weakpoint easily.
    • In these stages, the power of all weapons becomes the same. (1 point: shooting body, 12 points: shooting head)
    • After the headshot, Jack (Joker) can't be damaged by headshot for a while (about 30 frames).
  • In shooter stages, I played to defeat minibosses as fast as possible.
    • In these stages, the power of all weapons and rapid frequency becomes the same.
Techniques:
  • Batman can jump a little far when he jumps to rub the corner of the celling.
  • Batman can walk faster when he walks on the lift which is moving right and left. But this is no use.
About other things in this game:
  • When the stage begins, the power of weapons is set to 16. It returns former power when Batman gets rapid items or another weapons.
    • The power of weapons: "N" = 16 , "S" and "P" = 32 , "R" = 40 , "W" = 48 , "T" = 64
Useful memory adresses:
  • X-location of Batman: C0D7
  • X-location of Scroll: C0EF
  • Lives of Jack(Joker): C353
  • Headshot timer: C34C
  • Lives of minibosses in Batwing stages: C4B6

adelikat: Viewer response is good. Good enough for publication. Accepting.

Wow... yet another generic action platformer combined with another generic side-scrolling shooter. A combination like that needs more interesting game mechanics than what the above implies, or at least a healthy dose of glitches, to make a run of something of the sort remotely interesting. It's not a reflection on your level of play, which is good, but on the game itself. I am giving this a Meh.

It started off boring, but I think the stages eventually got more interesting. I think you did a good job keeping things entertaining during the autoscrolling sections. Voting yes.

Time to encode the 2500th submission. Edit: I had to hex the submission to work without a BIOS file, I must ask why a BIOS file is needed for this movie if it is not needed to work. Below is some files: Fixed VBM (Syncs perfectly fine, I just changed the byte demanding BIOS, I'd publish it with this one instead if at all possible) DailyMotion Archive.org At the time of writing, the DailyMotion and Archive.org links were still uploading, so download at your own risk.

Thanks for the fixed VBM, Flygon! Wow, this run is a really nice improvement over the previous submissions. I wouldn't have guessed that all weapons do the same damage at boss battles, so it was nice to see the Wave gun being used for better headshots. I liked seeing the run show off different weapons, particularly in Stage 2. It was cool to see the growing "Batshield" in Stages 2 and 4 as well. Also, as a major plus, the autoscroller antics were good, especially in Stage 4-2.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

This was simple, but in a nice and refreshing way. This is the kind of repetition that I can get behind. Yes.

Replaced Aktans audio stream with my encodes one with his permission It syncs perfectly, but the audio is of lower quality (Personally, I can't hear much difference, but my hearing sucks quality wise). I need help. Should we publish this with: a) My lossy 8mb encode (It's hard to notice the encoding artifacts, but they are there) b) The Aktan video/Flygon audio hybrid at 12mb c) Aktan's extremely high quality audio encode, at 20mb I have no idea what to use, if this is accepted. We need YOUR help viewers!

a goddamn yes vote by the way, I suppose you know who's the real Batman.

This looks pretty solid, I'll give it a yes. Though simple I think it's entertaining enough for a 10-minute run.

Sorry, everyone. I checked "use BIOS file" when I was recording this movie. I didn't notice this bad thing. I'll be careful next time. m(_ _)m Flygon, Thank you very much for your nice works.

I voted Meh, and believe me it was a very tough call on this one. This game to begin with [thanks for the encode Aktan!].. well it's crap. You can sugar coat it all you want.. but yeah. The music is abysmal, especially the end of each round music which got annoying VERY fast. This looked like Batman meets Super Mario Land, but without the coolness of SML. But, to counter it, aside from most levels looking just horrendously boring [not that you didn't do your best to correct that], the main ones that got me leaning to an almost Yes were all of Round 3, as despite knowing the plan of attack, it was still made entertaining, especially the twitching to the music, and 4-2 was entertaining with the way the batarangs flew around you and took out turrets with impunity. Unfortunately those were the only good parts that made it worth while. I don't think it was the best choice of games.. but you did do your best.. but this just managed to eke underneath a Yes unfortunately... but it was close. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I voted meh. Not very much TAS potential in this game. However, I was very pleased with your stylistic/entertainment choices. I thought you made the most of the game.

I don't know what the heck Sunsoft was thinking when they made this game. Batman doesn't use guns. Batman doesn't use projectile weapons worse than guns either. Yet here we have a game which has Batman doing everything Batman despises. I tried to make the text of the movie match how absurd this is. As for the run itself, it started off a bit boring, but the flying levels and auto scrolling levels were actually rather enjoyable. Nice job MiezaruMono!
