I would like to offer
700$ prize fund for competition of tasing this small
flash game, which I have been playing for years, but never managed to bypass level 52 :(
I want to see, how far is it possible for human to go in "Endless survival mode". The game seems to be determenistic, for every wave there are always same amount of enemies, so it comes down to making right decisions. I wonder, what is the optimal strategy to reach highest level?
I think that following limitations will make the speedrun more enjoyable:
- Mouse cursor must not be teleported, but should move on screen at the pace enough to cross full horizontal game space in 0.5 seconds, not faster.
- Clicks are limited to five clicks per any given second, just in case, I don't think this limitation should be a problem, together with real mouse speed requirement.
- Sending next wave is allowed only from "Wave preview" button, clicking button for fast next wave skip is forbidden.
- Corrupting gamestate for manipulating levels and enemies is not allowed, the run should be reproducible by human at least theoretically.
So this looks like "glitchless, human-like" category, more
about strategic thinking, than using advantages of TAS tools. The "speed" of record is determined by number displayed as "waves survived" after defeat.
I am thinking about running the competition for two months, so submissions deadline should be 00:00 UTC 5th of January 2025, the person who gets the best score will receive 400$, second place receives 200$ (in case of tie in the score, first published submission wins, but second place can not be published after first, i.e. if someone posts submission, which won't be beaten, before anyone else, then second place award goes to him/her) and 100$ will be awarded to the person with
best submission text, thoroughly describing important game mechanics and tricks/formuals used during the run. The submission text awards will be awarded by myself on 5th of January, so it is OK to first publish the run and write submission text later.
I would like to
pay the reward in crypto, preferrably Solana USDC, but any crypto will do. I would like to send the prize money to site admins, if they don't mind, so the competitors would be sure, that they will win the prize. Also I would be happy if this post would be moved to separate thread to discuss the game and competition.
I am open to suggestions, in case I have made any mistake or you see the way to abuse the competition rules...
