The playback of this run comes to a speedy end by means of many glitches and using JPN rom. This rom can show the message quickly than others. They'll allow to complete this game within an hour. All of the glitches and some techniques I used are only existing one. I deeply appreciated people's great discoveries and researches.
Incidentally, this run was made as just amusing movie for Japanese video site. After the putting on view in the site, I was proposed trying to submit to TASVideos. So this run contains some joking factors, slow parts and going through old route. That's why It'll able to be clipped several minutes off the records in the run.
However, as a result of thinking, I decided to submit because I won't try again in the near future. Although opinions may vary on using JPN rom, I hope you like it.

The following glitches and techniques are mainly used:
  • Escape forest with water jumpslash ESS
  • Skip the owl with Deku Stick
  • Get Gold scale in childhood
  • Skip Door of Time
  • Steal Rod
  • Bottle Adventure
  • Skip Gerudo Bridge with Hookshot
  • Skip Ganon's Castle Trials with Bomb Hovering
  • SS to Ganon to keep Master Sword

adelikat: The ending input was way longer than necessary. I chopped it and replaced the movie file. This movie is sub 1 hour!

mmbossman: The two main goals of this site are to provide entertaining movies which are typically as fast as possible. However, sometimes one facet takes more precedence than the other. We have several well optimized movies which are less than entertaining to watch, and we have some that have known improvements but have been published because they are very entertaining. Usually these known improvements are small, however the improvements they provide to the previously published movie are usually small as well. Here, the improvement is clearly much more substantial.
So that leads us to two possible solutions: 1) accept this run for what it is, an entertaining run with some flaws that obsoletes one of the two runs we currently have which can be beat in real time, or 2) reject it due to known improvements and mildly suboptimal level of play. After reading through all the responses in the discussion thread, I feel it better benefits the site and our viewers to accept and publish this run. Do I wish this run integrated some more of the known tricks which have been pointed out? Sure I do. However I don't believe that it is a wise decision to await a "perfect" run which may never come, while in the mean time continuing to have a run published which is worse than a real time run. So I am accepting this submission.
This acceptance will not result in a change of policy regarding (U) ROMs being preferable to (J) ROMs. Any future improvements should use the (U) ROM, and any resulting time lost due to slower text screens will not be used to penalize that submission, just as any time gained from faster text screens was not factored into the judging decision for this run.

Aktan: Processing... (taking forever to audio sync it)

EZGames69: For anyone planning on encoding this in the future. Make sure you use the same plugins that are listed, especially the input plugin as using the wrong one can cause a desync. And also make sure "Raw Data" is checked in the plugin settings for the input plugin. and finally for the RSP plugin, make sure you select "set to process alists inside the rsp". That should be all.

Is this the no true scotsman argument vs a straw man? ("Cutscenes aren't part of the REAL run!" vs "So you'd want to skip side-hopping parts too? That's ridiculous!") I'd greatly appreciate encodes without these cutscenes that I've already seen over a hundred times too. ^^

Remember that there was a cutsceneless version made for the all temples run. I think an attempt was made to make an indexed MKV where you could skip all cutscenes in one mode and watch it all in another, but I don't think it worked well because of how poorly media players implemented the extra features of the MKV format. I wonder how much of this is still the case... Not to mention that the current video WIP for the upcoming Majora's Mask run is rendered to skip cutscenes. I'm not saying that the official encode should be that way though, that would be stupid. Having one extra version of the video wouldn't hurt, though an indexed MKV may be more desirable if it is possible, since you would still have the complete content. You would just have the option to auto-skip cutscenes.

But if everyone watched the run skipping cutscenes it'd give people less opportunity to argue about language! And we love arguing!... Who a I kidding, we'd still argue! I agree, that the cutscenes are pretty boring, especially when you've already seen them enough times. I never felt that way about the side-hop though. It just looks crazy and its so well executed; I'd always thought rolling was the fastest way to travel. Besides, it's interspersed with so many super slides and other weird glitches that it hardly gets as repetitive as all that.

I have to agree with Warp. Cinematics are part of the game and count towards playing time. I usually skip them for games I played myself, and MKV chapters would provide a convenient way to skip them. But they are part of the game and the speedrun and thus should be included.

Yeah. This couldn't be any clearer. If you were to remove something from the static gameplay content, the final product wouldn't be a TAS in it's true meaning anymore. For all not willing to watch specific parts -> fast forward, it doesn't hurt that much. But, of course, if someone has the patience to edit a movie and add a frame counter to it so that one can understand how long scenes are removed, I would happily watch videos about the games that are familiar or that I've already beaten. But those wouldn't still belong here as TAS movies.

I'd like to point out a rather obvious improvement to the first RBA sequence in this run. As is, it consits of 1) Getting bottle B with bombs on C-right 2) Recatching the bug 3) Putting the pocket cucco to C-right 4) Emptying the bottle 5) Refilling the bottle with a bug Steps 2 and 4 could be skipped though.

Just wanna know : I watched the famous Swordless Link, AKA and Blooblieba's WIP, and even if it used nearly perfect strategy and perfect movements, it's still slower than this run to get the Master Sword, is it because of the japanese ROM or does the author skips something Swordless Link, AKA and Blooblieba didn't skip ?

It proves that Japanese is a lot faster to display than English, I (an any other non-speaker) would take forever to read anything written in Japanese ;)

It proves NOA screwed up big time by optimizing the way text gets displayed for looks and not for speedrunners like they were supposed to. XD

I don't really see why having Japanese text would have made this unpublishable. If possible, 100% of OoT TASers would skip all text anyway. Claiming English is "more entertaining" or "nostalgic" just doesn't cut it in my book. If there was a French version where you could skip all text boxes, would that be unpublishable? And how much is really gained from the text change? 2-4 minutes? This movie is a HUGE improvement to the previous one, even if it doesn't use all the tricks (some of which probably found when he was in the late stages of the run), it's well executed and entertaining. Okay, I'll admit that getting the bomb drops earlier would have been nice. Maybe unmanipulatable? Easy yes.

But that's the point: It's not possible. Most of the text is unskippable (even if it can be dismissed quickly), so the viewer has to watch all the text. Hence it's better if the viewer has a chance of actually understanding the text rather than having to watch strange runic symbols for minutes and minutes.

I was under the impression there was a rule against using the JP version of a ROM when the only change was text, especially when there is a US published movie. Also re: blah blah blah unskippable, in games like this the text can actually be followed along if you're a fast reader. This should have been done on (U) ROM.

The only reason that it was OK for the TASer to use the J rom was that the run was initially made for nico video and someone here told him to submit it here as well. As it is explained in the submission text...

And future runs should use the U ROM. If the time completed is slower due to the text differential, that will be overlooked. Only the gameplay portions will be examined for the difference in speed. The reason why the J ROM was accepted this time is that somebody made a TAS of OoT that shattered the old run's time, but they didn't make it for TASVideos and, therefore, didn't follow the U ROM rule (but followed the other rules). The old run was about 4 years old and there was no foreseeable time when it would be obsoleted by someone using the U ROM. So this was accepted, with the assurance that the drastic difference in time due to text would not be considered when (and if) a new run is submitted using the U ROM. I believe there is also a consensus that the next run must use the U ROM, per the rules. There really should be no further discussion on this issue; it was already resolved earlier in this thread.

XD The next run will be done on the J ROM. This run being published has ensured that.

Says who? Besides, there might be a real possibility that if someone made a submission using the J ROM, it might get rejected because it's breaking the rules. (Remember, this publication did not set a precedent. It was published as a special exception to the rules. It doesn't mean the rules have changed.)

Says who? Me, one of the people who'll be doing the run. Besides, there might be a real possibility that if someone made a submission using the J ROM, it might get rejected because it's breaking the rules. As if I care. This of course is assuming we submit it anyway.

You deliberately want to break the rules and don't care if the submission gets rejected because of that? I honestly don't understand that attitude. Is it some kind of protest against something?

It's too bad that you feel that way. It is clearly an exception this run got accepted because it outdoes the old run by a lot. The reasons why it is using the J ROM have been already been speculated, but here I'll list them again. One, the author originally did not intend to submit this run to the TAS site, and two, the author's native language is Japanese. It is obvious that even if the author did not use the J ROM, it would beat the old run by a lot. I do see that since he was using the J ROM, there is a clear disadvantage in total run time verses the U ROM, but most people still prefer the U ROM and it has been clearly stated here that judging won't account for that. Now you making a run using the J ROM out of protest, I don't see how this would be productive for either you or the site, but I digress.

submitting with j rom kinda makes sense. i mean tasvideos shouldnt have accepted this run because it breaks site rules anyhow. it has set a standard meaning future runs shohld have the same exceptions...

If his new run beat this current one by more than 10-15minute, I see no raeson why it shouldn't be accepted, according to your logic... Then improvement to an another improvement, once the time saved isn't calculated in minute, but in second(or so)... I'll say that U rom > J rom, even with some minutes of difference, because of text.
