The problems about the sound plugin.

Some sounds are lost in TAS Sound Plugin of Move sync mode. MIDAS PSX SPU does not desync, it may be good. But, they may freeze by a Cortex's voice because reading of the sound is out of condition. It may be necessary you do not use the mode or to change it into other SPU so that you watch the end.

Movement Tricks

Zigzag boost

Crash's speed is boosted, if you continue pressing D-pad diagonally while sliding or jumping.

Slide and Spin of neutral

Sliding speed is kept when Crash spin. But, it becomes low speed if you press D-pad when Crash spin.

About the ice

When you jump from ice, slippery ground is carried over to the moment of the next landing, and it is continued if you jump again. In addition, you can slide at fast speed only once.

Extra Item Glitch

When Crash stamped a box, the counts that stamped an enemy consecutively increase in the same way. And you can get a extra item when this counts exceed 200 times.
0 Nothing
1 One Apple
2 Two Apples
3 Three Apples
4 One Up Panel
5-199 Nothing
200-299Crystals
300-517Gems
518-522Color Gems

Keep the counter

When Crash lands, this counter is initialized, but it is continued if Crash land while spin. And it is continued while Crash slide and squat down.

Spinning stamp

I was able to cancel the bounce of Crash by spinning at the same time to stamp the bounds limit of the box. And it is applied to an enemy.

Sliding stamp

You would stamp it when you jumped as soon as slide attack the enemy.

Detailed commentary

At first 197 times bound. It saves 30 frames about once to hit a head on an object. And, I stamped 17 enemies after having stamped three boxes while letting the counter continue. I was able to continue the counter to the next scene by stepping on the pedestal with spin. However, unfortunately it was not able to continue when a scene was replaced by a fall. Therefore I stamped 8 enemies more in second scene.
I hope you enjoy the run!

I was wondering what to make of all the jumping around at the start, but this had an awesome conclusion. Yes vote from me! Also I would call for this as a separate category than Mukki's TAS, simply because both runs are great and deserve to be on the site.

Yes Vote, realy surprised that this game could be glitched like this :). And yeah, this should have it's own category.

Very nice! I knew of this glitch, but on the crate nearer the end of the level not on the first one. I also didn't know that you could get all the crystals with this glitch in one go, I thought that you would just get one and so it would be too dull in the long run. The boss fights were great and I'm impressed at how much style you were able to get out of them. That little trick at the end of N Gin was excellent as it allowed you to kill his final form in one cycle. I tried for ages to figure out if that was possible. Also, that slide+spin tech looked much smoother than what I did. I think that this game deserves a 'glitched' category as it offers something fundamentally different to the any%, but I definitely think that Pirohiko should improve my all levels run. By the looks of this he could do something really special. Easy Yes vote.

Thanks for the encode Pirohiko! The opening bouncing made me wonder if this was another April Fool's joke, but then the game became a boss rush. As Mukki said, the style was great too, especially during the Tiny fight. I also think this should be published separately from the "all levels" run, but I'm not sure if we can justify this decision considering the precedent set by Chrono Trigger and Earthbound. Then again, in each of those cases, a relatively out-of-date run was being obsoleted, whereas the current all-levels run is much more recent. Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. For a few minutes, I was like, WTF? This a joke? Then you end the level, quite quickly I might add, then you have beaten every level. Yes vote.

The first five minutes of this TAS was like watching a repeating gag on Family Guy. The only difference being, there's an actually funny punchline at the end of the tedium. The boss playaround was hilarious too. If I were in charge of this I would never have figured how to make all those boss fights watchable. This gets a have-my-babies vote from me. Also, have we now confirmed that slide-spinning is faster than sliding all the time? Or is it still contextual?

This TAS looks excellent in almost every possible aspect: technical, style, entertainment, WTF factor and good game choice. Very funny, creative and surprising, I can only give it a strong Yes. Thanks for making this and thanks for the encode. :P
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

Is the jumping on the box necessary, or just a way to waste time while you wait for an exact frame for something?

I've heard of this glitch but I've never seen it pulled off in Snow Go, and I've never seen it pulled off in a way that grants you more than one extra crystal. Yes vote, I was either amazed or laughing through out the whole TAS. @Patashu: If I am not mistaken too many bounces causes a memory corruption/manipulation, and the number "too many" bounces decides where the corruption happens. So in this case the crystals addresses where corrupted/manipulated. If anyone knows exactly how this glitch works, please explain it. EDIT: Should be published separately instead of obsoleting the other run, due to the fact that this glitch breaks the game into smithereens.

I was guessing every jump = 1 crystal yes, but make sure comments include about why the player is jumping on the box as it's very long

Easy yes vote, agreed that it should be a separate 'glitched category' Also, an explanation of how/why the glitch works would be appreciated. Perhaps someone who knows it, and speaks english could help the author create some text? Thanks!

Here is a video showing how to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2xwwnIN5fQ I am guessing that all the bounces causes an overflow somewhere in the memory giving you gems/crystals instead of wampa fruit when you do a chain-kill.

That was pretty good. The sound when you glitch a purple crystal sounds like a popcorn sound. It also seems that you found a new way of sliding. It looks much faster. A Yes vote to you pori..err..pirohiko.

Wow, this was amazing! The jumping was kind of boring, but after that this was all golden. Easy yes vote and seconding the seperate category motion.

I've only played this game once - for a few minutes - and even I could tell something supercrazy was going on. A quick explanation of what Crystals, Gems and Collor Gems are in this game would be appreciated. Wikipedia wasn't particularly forthcoming regarding the mechanics. This is practically up there with M64 as one of the astounding sequence breaks on this site. Congratulations on being able to lead the charge on this new entry!

Crystals: The item that must be collected in every stage, when you have the crystal from every level in the warp room you are allowed to visit the warp room boss. What this TAS is doing is that it collects all crystals from all levels at once (In the level Snow Go) using the glitch explained in the submission text. Gems: Reward for collecting all boxes from a level or for beating a gem/death route, they are not trivial to beat the game but collecting all of them (including the colored ones) unlocks the best ending. Colored Gem: Reward for completing a secret goal or a hidden region in a level, a few of these regions are only available from a hidden warp room. (These along with the ordinary gems unlocks the best ending)

I'd love to hear how the heck they managed to screw up like this. What exactly is happening? Full details please!

Thanks for that explanation! So it sounds like by bouncing for longer, you'd get all the gems and colored gems necessary for a 'best ending' run. I understand the only difference may be in extending the bouncing at the start, the delay in recieving the items and in the ending but it seems worth doing. Because c'mon, it's the 'best ending'. As I don't want to sound ungrateful, I'll just say again that this is an astounding run.
