• Uses Snes9x v1.43.
Here is a run of one of my favorite Spiderman games, which unusually, given the series' popularity in the west, was only released in Japan. This Spidey game is particularly interesting from a TAS perspective due to the wealth of techniques at the players' disposal.

Used over some short distances and to pass through enemy hitboxes

Punch5HP x 2
8HP x 1
10HP x 1
Most used against bosses.
Using full combo pushes the boss out of optimal position.
If when A is pressed for the third time an idle frame is left followed by another A the full combo is cancelled and a third 5HP punch is delivered instead.
This does less damage but keeps the boss in the optimal position and stops him attacking
Web Shot2HPSeldom used.
Sometimes used to clear a weak enemy if it is in optimal swinging path
Dash6HPAlmost useless. Takes both Spidey and the boss out of optimal position.
Used for flare if the opportunity presents itself.
Downward Kick6HPUseful for attacking airborne bosses.
Useful in normal play for optimally gripping the edge of a platform.
Uppercut10HPDoes highest damage.
Slow to execute so punching trick often used instead.
Useful for low flying bosses.
Useful for a finishing blow.
  • Aims for Fastest Time
  • Plays on Hardest Difficulty Level
  • Takes Damage to Save Time
  • Genre: Platform

FractalFusion: Accepting this movie ASAP. It's another one of those grappling wire games, and it looks cool.
sgrunt: Kyman has indicated he's encoding this; assuming all is well I'll publish that once it's done.

Great run, I had a WIP of the first level, it was way slower though. Good job on destroying this game though Mukki. Yes yes yes vote!

For some reason, the sound reminds me of Neo-Bomberman. :/ Yes Vote! It was well done and very fast. My favorite part is where you pwned Carnage while Venom did the moonwalk.

Great job and entertaining run. Just a nitpick though: why is this recorded with 1.43 when, as far as I know, we're trying to transition to 1.51 on this site? Did you start this run a good while ago?

Sometimes 1.43 and 1.51 emulate the same game differently (most notably, lag can differ between versions) and sometimes people feel more comfortable with 1.43. So, yeah. Thats my guess.

This game seemed pretty silly to me, but it was speedy. I approve.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.
