This just goes back to the root page! Eventually I will move the root page here and replace it with everything here.
With the SMM2 3.0 update, there is an official series of speedrun events called Ninji Speedrun. This is actually where I started speedrunning. I had my take on it, and earned myself all 21 gold stars (being in top 10%). 14 levels in top 1%, 5 levels in top 0.1%. Not a record contender, but an advanced player with the ability to grind on some events.
While that was happening, I tried SMB1 and SMB3, realising they are not the best games for me to run. Although being popular, SMB is too precise and unforgiving. The combination of P speed and narrow screen in SMB3 makes it a complete memorisation game.
After finally completing a decent SMB3 warpless run, I moved on to SM3DW (WiiU). That game is really unforgiving. The Switch port came out around that time, and I switched to it. At first I ran multiplayer. I kept improving on myself and now have a top 30 time. It has been and will forever been my favourite game. Currently I maintain the Top 3DW Runners Spreadsheet, where IGTs and character selections are recorded. Formulas for comparisons are created to analyse and provide insights for runners looking to improve their times.
