Here is a version of Yathzee (yes, the German version spells it that way), that I consider to be the best version on the Commodore 64. Its goal is "Max Score".
There are a number of things here that I would like opinions on from the community:
The ROM I chose was picked among 3 different sources:
  • This WIP uses a version that was extracted from the companion disk, issued from a magazine called "Magic Disk 64". Loads directly to the original game content. ROM Name: Yathzee.d64%%
  • Another ROM, Yathzee_1992_CP_Verlag.d64, has a trainer screen...which leads into the original content.
  • A final ROM reviewed, comes from "Magic Disk 64"...which has a selection screen to get to the game.
In terms of speed, the obvious choice is to use Yathzee.d64 (Option 1)...but as for authenticity, what would make more sense for a publication on this site?
Additionally, this TAS turns off the sound...which eliminates the freezing, when speaking.

I'm really surprised how detailed this game is. I have found 13 more frames, from two different areas. One, a frame from edging out an obstacle. Two, the last boss fight.

In my search to regain the 7 frames that I lost, due to a frame rule...I discovered how to exploit the collision detection and turn around maneuvers. Instead of figuring out the mysterious 7 frames lost, I found 30 more from various places across the entire TAS.

Because there was a 7 frame loss, after one stage, I had to go back and see if I could figure it out how to get that 7 frames back. Unfortunately, it appears that this TAS can't cut enough to change this situation, which could be a frame rule.

This include a dumb mistake that I found on the last Cave.
This also removes the last input from the final bonus cave....which satisfies the decision that was made among you and the staff.

This improvement was the result of a reported flaw that I didn't catch early in the TAS by DrD2k9. Because of the early cuts, I had to re-sync the TAS...especially the cut scene between Level 63 and 64, where I ran my BOT. The resync and BOT running took almost 3 days.

This correction is to replace the existing submitted input file for http://tasvideos.org/6173S.html
It is 123 frames faster. The improvement came from finding another "Free Krusty" at the end of Area 3. Reorganizing the use of them, I found that an extra death can be applied to the 3rd visited room of Area 3. I discovered this mistake after reviewing Iceplug's WR again and saw the extra Krusty...which I thought that I had ruled out. His version is 1.0, while mine is 1.1...so i thought that i didn't have one there.
