User Files for Blackthorne

This is a TAS of the first level of Blackthorne for the SNES. Like Prince of Persia, this game is a "cinematic platformer", having realistic movement. Because of this, a TAS can't go much faster than an optimized RTA speedrun. In later levels, there is a lot more RNG, so a TAS could likely improve on RTA runs there. I might make a full run from this, but I'm not fully sure due to the extreme RNG.

This is another project I've started some years ago.

Several changes were done after the last WIP posted here, including two big ones: a completely new strategy for 2-4 skip, and skipping most of 1-3 using bombs.

The game is complete, but optimizing the RNG to the fullest potential requires lots of dedication.

Level 1 improved by 243 frames + Level 2 finished.

The Beebomb Shield was done completely by accident but it worked out so I'm running with it.

3 minutes faster, thanks for new optimizations, a shortcut on 1-3, and a bigger skip on 1-4.

Input ends on the start of 2-1.

1 minute faster than previous (older) WIPs of this game.

1-1 and 1-2 finished.
