Final Fantasy VIII (1999) marked a significant departure from earlier SquareSoft titles — it was their first game to have realistically proportioned characters and did away with much of the traditional gameplay systems used by earlier titles. Additionally, it is the first Final Fantasy to focus on a love story.
This is the first multi-disc publication on the site, and is also one of the longest published runs.

Note for viewers: Due to an emulation error, there is a slight graphical glitch at Fisherman's Horizon which may be seizure-inducing. The YouTube encode compensates for this by removing the frames that cause this issue by dropping the framerate in half.
