Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is a side-scrolling beat 'em up released for the SNES in 1993 and ported to the Sega Genesis the following year. The player controls one of the five original Inner Sailor Guardians and fights enemies across several locations in order to protect Earth from the Dark Kingdom, a group of antagonists led by Queen Beryl. Unlike other titles based on Sailor Moon, combat is primarily physical rather than magical, with the Sailor Guardian punching, kicking, and throwing enemies, alongside a special attack that deals damage to all enemies on screen.
