Thunder Force V is a shoot 'em up game developed by Technosoft for the Sega Saturn in 1997. It is the fifth game in the Thunder Force series, as well as the third entry released on the Sega Saturn. The game is rendered with 3D polygons in addition to sprites, and its soundtracks are composed with techno rearrangements. The game features a special weapon called "CRAWs" which shoots additional firepower and has the ability to absorb enemy shots, and allows up to three CRAWs to be used on the ship, as opposed to two in previous games. Another new feature in this game is the "Over Weapon", which combines CRAWs and the currently selected weapon to create a more powerful version of that weapon.
