Okay... Real talk: I just got finished with my "low% + warpless" run of Super Mario Bros. yesterday and afterward, and admittingly, I didn't seem to have much to do besides play some Bloons TD 6. Later during today, I stumbled upon this post from CoolHandMike in the Revisiting rejected submissions thread (he mentioned my first ever submission here so I couldn't help but respond lol). In it, he wondered where the patch for Super Clip Bros 2.0 was, which, by the way, you can find here. I happened to notice a few issues in DMTA's submission, so I figured I would step up and take it on. And sure enough, I did beat it; by 0.45 seconds. (He did disappear 5.5 years ago so I don't know how he'd react to this submission being made as we speak...)
The run itself took me an hour to make (despite it having nine less rerecords than the last run in 2019). This submission? About another hour lol.
As far as the hack itself is supposed to be about... I dunno. As far as I know, this is a revision of a hack made in 2018 by Cubored where players must traverse through three zones through the use of wall clips; intended to be a little test for tool-assisted speedrunners. The first version of Super Clip Bros (which is a separate hack) can be found here.

Zone-by-zone comments

Obviously first here, you need to buffer jump (hold A before Mario appears), a common practice first seen in (I believe) Super Mario Forever.
Then here, I double-walljump over the wall and leap for the gap. Then I clip through the final structure to get the flagpole; this is faster than going over it, since Mario's autowalk stops faster (he needs to hit the side of a block after lowering the flag for the timer to drain).

As much as I'd like to finish the zone with 384 in-game seconds, it's just not possible no matter what I tried. It's faster to do the devil's spell clip on that first wall, but it's just not enough to finish in time. So I have to wait to avoid those fireworks instead.

I performed that special clip with the coins seen in HappyLee's "warps" run of the original game's World 4-2, where I clip inside the bottom of the wall. The major problem there was that last part of the zone, performing the FPG.
I get inside the hidden block (marked with an exclamation mark) and make my way to the flagpole. On the sole flagpole glitch (FPG), however, there was some weird voodoo magic with the Y subpixel going around, and I'm honestly surprised that it'll only work with a one-frame A jump inside the hidden block. I thought DMTA's one-frame A jump was only pure laziness smh.
Thus, I had to use his run for reference. Like an idiot. ;~;

Prevention of the camera scrolling (Mario moving without the camera moving with him) won't work either. Touching the flagpole while all the way to the right edge of the screen will result in a softlock, as the castle flag sprite won't appear; the castle itself needs to appear for that.
Thankfully, those were the only two zones (or levels, whatever you wanna call 'em) that I didn't truly make improvements on. This last zone, however, did see improvements.
1-3
It's three frames faster to perform an instant jump to fall faster. I then performed two devil's spell clips, which were optimized so that I only jump twice to start moving right into the walls.
- I shimmied on the first clip, then went through three hidden blocks (for reference, DMTA only went through two; he corner-clipped instead of went through the first hidden block).
- Just like DMTA, I went under Bowser, where his sprite flips, along with the orientation of his hitboxes. The detection of his hitboxes clashing with Mario's was much more defective thanks to the shimmies from earlier, so I was able to jump earlier for that final clip.
- I did a running jump to the axe to finish it off.

Fun clips and glitches
FPG, devil's spell, running through Koopa
Optimization
Pretty much
Uhh
Yeah
So... What about possible improvements?
Just Zone 1-1, that's about it. But I still doubt it's possible to find an improvement there anyway...
Okay... Additional thoughts (besides the "Other comments")?
This submission's for CoolHandMike, since, as a judge, he's looking further into the submissions of hacks listed in his post, hopefully to determine better chances of acceptability (again, due to the more lenient rules and guidelines). I'm honestly a bit worried about how everyone else will react since this isn't exactly high quality, but, well, judge's call I guess (whether it's CoolHandMike or anyone else).
I could go for other hacks if I wanted to, maybe. Actually, I got several other runs for various SMB1 hacks uploaded in Userfiles, so maybe they could be submitted and published thanks to the lenient rules. I don't wanna be greedy about all that though...

Sweeeeeeeeet. Now what abou-
And I spoofed the contents of DMTA's submission just for funsies because I may have thought it'd be a bit hilarious lol
Alright. Cool. You got your laughs, you got your run. Now where are the suggested screenshots?
Okay, okay, relax. I have the suggested screenshots ready should this be published. Nonetheless, I'll let you make the call on those too.
Frame 394, Zone 1-1
Frame 605, Zone 7-1
Frame 1926, Zone 1-2
Frame 2195, Zone 1-2
Frame 3133, Zone 1-3
Frame 3687, Zone 1-3
And that's about it from me, have at it!
Sorry if I sounded like a weirdo out there; this isn't usually the tone I set for submissions like this (admittingly, I wanted to sound funny). I might tone it down if I have to.
