To get 120 stars and beat the game as fast as possible
  • Manipulates luck
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Abuses programming errors
I don’t like to write much, but I had a lot of fun with this run. Sometimes I thought it wouldn’t be completed, because some things are very hard to do (eg, Tall Tall Mountain, Dire Dire Docks, etc), but finally it is done. I hope you enjoy this run.
People I’d like to thank (in no order)

Aside from my complaints about the run having no speed/entertainment trade-offs, this is an incredible improvement, good job. I voted yes.

Very awesome run indeed! A lot of surprising tricks were used in it. I have, however, two questions about the last Bowser fight, the last hit: Wasn't it faster to through him on the spike that was to the diagonal left instead of to the right? Why didn't you position yourself under the star...?

it was always good to see new WIPs and you never let us wait for long :P still looked mostly well done so I voted yes!

Been watching it since you released the JRB WIP. How could I possibly vote no? Definite yes.

I dont know and the secend question:

Well, we tried that. The bomb that you'd usually hit was the one that got him furthest away from the star, and the bomb that we didn't hit which isn't that, ended up only costing time. What we did was the fastest available, and the only way I can see around it is perhaps catching him at a later point while he's in the air. =/

I am convinced you are not human. You produced WIPs on a near daily basis, and saved more time than what everyone expected this to be improved upon. Yes vote. Fast action, very noticeable improvements in every stage, many clever solutions to quicken the speed, and utilizing up to date tricks and glitches. The only complaint, which, in the end, does not detract my yes vote, was the camera and lack of entertainment/speed tradeoff. I'm not going to go into much detail, since all my thoughts were posted about it in the thread and you improved with camera angles about 75% through the run, but I would have vastly preferred if the entire run you paid careful attention to the camera angles, rather than improving them only in the later stages. Fantastic job nonetheless.

Voting Yes. Excellent improvement. Excellent run. Watched all the WIPs and thoroughly enjoyed them all. It's sad to see FODA's run obsleted, but I think that this is certainly a worthy successor which, in itself, is no easy task. Very well done.

Excellent work. For nine straight weeks I've only doubted whether you're human. Assuming you are, I hope you've been remembering to eat and sleep! Also...

Awesome movie! When FODA finished his run, I didn't think anyone would try to improve it anytime soon, and especially complete the TAS this fast. Some very nice inventive improvements, great job :)

Simply brilliant execution of all the stages in terms of speed and routes. You cannot be human, so this is a yes and star vote.

I'm voting yes, but I am not a fan of the damage taken in the rainbow place while waiting for the carpet. It just seemed a bit.. off.

I've been following this since the HMC WIP, definite yes. Really an astounding improvement to the existing run. Route changes, several new tricks, and a very entertaining run all around. I particularly like the part in tall tall mountain on the 100 coin star, when you first grab the jump box (the one right next to the start), and on the third bounce get hit by the cannonball which speeds you down to the ground. That makes me lol every time. I just finished playing the game myself again after a couple years, it really brings out a new appreciation for how hard even the most basic tricks are to perform on a console :P. Amazing, amazing run. Great job Rikku

A well deserved yes vote from me. Some of the stars seemed a little slower than FODA's run, even though they were faster. I don't know why I'm mentioning this, though; it's just an observation.

One hell of run this turned out to be. Regardless of there being not many/no entertainment vs speed trade offs, I actually found this run to be superior in the entertainment department. You did a fine job on this run Rikku, I didn't doubt it at any moment. And hey, in some aspects, besides a thank you to FODA, you paid great homage to his run with your run. With all that I give this a yes vote. (Thanks for the acknowledgment in the submission text, stuff like that, in a subtle way, motivates me to TAS)

Hmm. I got a mention. Having an opinion finally paid off! I already said most of what I had to say in the WIP thread, but I would like to say that I thought it was pretty cool that Mario released the stage star while he was jumping toward the 100 coin star in Rainbow Ride. Of all of the negatives regarding entertainment that I wrote about the run, some were probably unavoidable because you changed the route in order to save time, and others were just camera choices. The unnecessary damage in Rainbow Ride really bothers me, though. That just isn't kosher. I suppose I can't vote No to the entire salad just because there are a few bacon bits in it. I'll pick them out and vote Yes anyway. Even though I've effectively voted for the obsoletion of FODA's run, I just want to say that FODA made an absolute masterpiece. It is a work of art. Camera angles and style were considered in every single frame. This run gets better looking in the later levels, but I think we'll all consider FODA's run as the standard to which all future runs will be compared to for entertainment value. Were you able to use the hyper pole-climbing glitch in Bowser 2 that AKA uses in his run?

I, too, would like to see a comparison of level times compared to FODA's run.
