Very awesome. I know these types of posts are frowned upon, but has there been any more progress? I'm not pressuring you or anything. I'm watching the SDA run again to kill time. I'm also busy with my own run of Kirby's Dream Land 3, so that's keeping my mind off it. (I'm excited about this run) Who knows. If I get sick of my KDL3 run for a while, I might do the next level of DKC3 just for a lark. I have no idea of any tricks for that game, so it would most likely suck. Even if you have one level extra or something, I'd watch that. But I'm sorry if I sound impatient by asking. I'll wait as long as it takes patiently.

Don't worry, hes doing it, we talk on IRC almost everyday trying to find anything that will make it faster, since i'm doing DKC3 aswell (Any%) i check his wips, he checks mine, and so on, but he will release only 1 world at the time, and he just found an improvement in the belcha fight, so world 1, will be more improved than the one currently posted, dont pressure my talented man!!! :P ;)

Yea that's the one Tompa uploaded. Thanks! I'm watching it now and it seems REALLY smooth, much more than the other versions.. Barrel Shield Bust-Up was amazing, the run was extremely entertaining. Keep up the good work ; )

Awesome, I'm really glad to hear that the run is enjoyable! Thanks to a fewsuggestions from Tompa I should be able to shave off around 150 frames if the green banana bonuses cooperate. Tompa showed me how to roll through barrels whichsaved a little bit of time... I also touched up a part of Murky Mill thanks to tompa and saved 16 frames there... I also somehow found another17 frames up to the banana bonus in riverside race which is what I'm currently working on. I would post theWIP but I'm away from home posting on a Wii... which also explains why this post may be rambling.

The damn vertical levels are a pain. I may pick this up again, I may not. But Tompa, you're doing well anyway, better than I did in that level. I just really don't want to work on the remaining levels and boss of World 2. After that, I may jump on board again (if that's ok, haha).

I compared some times, the boss for example, with Nibelung. I was surprised to see that I made the first hit 94 frames faster, but the second was 109 frames slower... Overall I managed to save 18 frames during the boss. But I still wonder what happened to all the frames after the first hit. I guess I'll have to redo. I'm looking forward to your come back Magnet :).

This sounds very similar to some problems that Randil and I encountered in Goof Troop. The cannons would fire at different rates depending on the value of the RNG, so that could possibly be the issue you're encountering. I don't know enough about the boss to say conclusively, but it's something you might consider.

I had written down the wrong frame number, aaargh. I redid the battle at least, saved 31 frames. WIP

very nice run so far :) one tiny comment, in squeals on wheels' find-20-stars bonus game... wouldn't it be faster to end with picking up the lower-right stars and rolling towards the final? GL with the rest of this :)

For those not hanging around in IRC... I've decided to restart the entire run. I managed to save 28 frames during the Funky conversation in the beginning, 1 at the boat, 1 to the bonus and 12 in the bonus itself. And I believe there's more to save. So don't really except this run to be done in a long time :/.

This movie desynchs for me. I think my settings are correct; the ROM appears to be right. I'm using Improvement 9.

You need an emulator with record reset. Use V11 instead.

I just noticed that I had for some reason chosed "Record from now"... That's why I was able to make a reset earlier than Electrospecter *sigh*. Oh well, hexing time with any%. So I'll work with 105% instead =P.

Psssssh only a silly Swede like you could make a silly mistake like that :-P Lesson learned: make sure the massive amount of frames you're saving is legit.
