Magical Taruruuto-Kun? I don't know what that means, but it is the name of this awesome platform game starring a baby wizard who can run, glide and cast spells.
I have no more words for describing this game, because it is so marvelous. It is a magnificent game for TASing.
The main weapon is a magic wand. You can hit enemies with it and grab/throw objects.
Gliding is the fastest way to move. I make a short glide in the beginning of every screen to achieve running speed immediately.
There are three spells in the game:
1) Temporal invulnerability (used once)
2) A spell that damages all enemies on screen (not used)
3) Sword spell (used once)
Well, this might be the best TAS I've made, although lag-reduction and other minor improvements are possible. I hope someone decides to improve it in the future.
I had lots of fun doing this, because this game is so full of joy. I hope you enjoy the movie!
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Abuses programming errors in the game
  • Genre: Platform
Note: In GameFAQs the game is called Magical Taru Ruto-Kun, but the ROM is called Magical Taruruuto-Kun. I don't know which one is the correct title.

NesVideoAgent: Hi! I am a robot. I took a few screenshots of this movie and placed them here. I'm not sure I got the right ROM though. (I tried Magical Taruruuto-Kun (J) [!].gen, which was the closest match to what you wrote.) Well, here goes! Feel free to clean up the list.

adelikat: Good enough.

adelikat: Processing.

Option #3 for the game's name: Magical Taluluto Adventure (J) [!] For some reason this game reminded me of Do-Re-Mi Fantasy. Also worth note that this game has a forest inhabited by both giraffes and vampires. And very happy boulders that refuse to stop smiling even when you 'kill' them. I can't explain this here thing at all but I'll give you a yes vote for your performance.

I'll vote yes, though I was considering withholding my vote until you satisfactorily explained what those monkeys were hanging from in the auto-scrolling area.

Wow, everything seems pretty damn happy in this movie. Does anyone know what the heck is going on with the plot?? Anyway it was a pretty dull first/second level but it really picked up from there. I auctually liked the autoscroller level and I did like the way you went through the wall on the last stage. A Yes from me.

hee what a pleasant game! Excellent choice for a TAS. Fast-paced, flexible, decent length for an outcome, and the graphics, sound, and music were great! Nice glitch in the last stage there. Good job rescuing the babe in the somewhat transparent dress!

Checking the intro screen, the correct name is Ruuto, not Ruto, so GameFAQs has is wrong. About the game/movie, I didn't find it that interesting, and most definitely not your best TAS. Not very interesting level design or bosses. The castles were the best, when you actually had to jump back and forth and there was something to do other than run forward. The visuals were a little too diabetic-inducing for be.

Good run of this nice little game, level design isn't too interesting but it's very pleasing visually so still fun to watch. I noticed the game seems to be using the same engine as Pulseman, and the explosion graphics and sound are exactly the same.

Oh! Good! Then hopefully Twisted Eye and IdeaMagnate get interested and devastate my run with their experience on Pulseman. :)

I give it a weak yes. It was kinda dull, but I did enjoy it. But did they have to put a freaking face on everything?! Not that I didn't like that, I just thought it was stretching it once I saw a face on a freakin apple.
