Ahh, thanks for the explanation. That makes sense. I like the repeated use of Big Toss; it's more interesting than chaining the bat dash repeatedly. Pity about the slow rises before Dracula, though.

The only relic you cant skip whatever you try is the wolf, the only way to remove the wolf from the run is to get the holy glasses from maria The only way to acquire the bat is to get the mist, regardless (or need 2Heart Refresh + duplicator...) Note you can get the mist without wolf, but its tricky, and would loose time anyway

Just for fun :) but seriously, i cant stand to hear "shshshhshhhshs" anymore (alucard moonwalk) Edit: ha for the record, since noone here will catch it, i use a very very very nasty technique to (un)kill karasuman, the point is if i kill him i will lvlup, i end up with about 45HP, witch brake big toss from fleaman in keep (16dmg = max 32HP... without toadstool at least)

This was much more entertaining that I expected, I'd love to see more if it's possible. I liked the creative divejumps off monsters to get to higher areas, and the big tossing.

That was really interesting. The most shocking fact, of course, was that you almost caught up to the bat TAS. If you optimize it, skip Richter and make cleaner per-room toss routes, you may actually beat the bat run. Wanna do it?

Even if you fall slightly short of beating the current run, there's always the possibility to add your submission to the published movie's description.

I rather like this way, looks more interesting/difficult than the bat-dash. Though much of the "this is difficult trick made easy" goes away due to the huge quantities of health restores used. Still, I like.

Not sure what you meant by "easy", but this is definitly not possible real time, i made many real time runs, abusing states or not, timings are just too strict Im not only speaking on preventive potions or toss madness, just a regular jump is a pain in the ass, im not trying to make it look harder than it is, just get a hand on the current pxm and try some rooms, youll see what i mean Ive started my own run now, and i can say theres few frames there and here to win (about 5-10 frames saved on dracula fight for exemple), but the whole run is very difficult to reproduce, most rooms was very optimized

I finished library, pheww! Compared to test run, i loosed 64 frames... tough.. i have potions ready, and much more important... im level4 (28HP) witch mean i can big toss on small skulls in clock tower, witch will save a huge chunk of waiting frames on the fleaguard :p The library was actually much improved (over 4 seconds) and look awesome imo lol, the frames looses are dispatched on the begin, since i needed some adjustement for getting that low level *hope by the weekend its done*

Today i was able to beat Zggzdydp's run, only by about 400 frames, but im far from having a optimized run here, not speaking of errors i made on the late part of it, main trouble is i dont have a efficient way to control drops (for now... i hope some help from pirate about that), i do much more relay on them since i dont have the bat, and there is place for a bunch of optimization I could skip the dialogue with richter but im not realy sure if im using the best strategy, this place is realy complex to deal with Overall its much more hard and time consuming than i first tought :p No bat will win in the end, but theres still a huge work before i get something nice enough to be submited If i can fix the few troubles i have in my current file ill try to post a second test run on youtube :D

Hey, 400 frames is a pretty impressive improvement in a 5-minute run. Nice work! I'm glad to hear that no-bat is faster in the end because it really does make the run more visually interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have. :) Edit:

I was talking of alucard run of course (20:18...) I have no idea how much i will save from it, for sure it will be over 1000 frames tough, considering errors, time for drops and that i might not have the best strategy for now, i cant tell exactly what will be the final result

Eh, since its been a while, and that the optimized run will take lot of time to produce, i guess this is worthy to upload and been watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkaxYOKMYig This one beat the current submition, but since i dont have drop the right sword (mablung), i cant realy beat dracula enough fast, tough its faster about 400 frames, just i wasnt patient enough with that sword, and also the other point is that now i have a better strategy for keep & skip richter, overall it seem i made quite few errors, pirate could optimize a bunch of the begining More work ahead, but its all good, now i just need to find sometime to do this more seriously, or team up with pirate :p Edit: ha yeah, i used frame advance on dialogues, 2 reasons, first its boring, second its to see (aprox) how much time saved when you skip dialogues, chinesse guys are working on doing this a more "human" way, with savestates but not a tas, and they do skip dialogues (clear game), i except this to be between 13:00 to 14:00
