Good idea! (and not just because I have a movie that would fall into this category :P)

You are indeed right. I therefore reject my submission on this thread.

You guys have bad memories! I found a lot of games that might could fit on this list. However, to remain impartial I am NOT officially nominating these. Just throwing them out there for you guys to consider. Someone else will have to actually care enough to nominate. All of these were movies that were 1) rejected 2) didn't break any site rules, and 3) got a ok viewer response (majority of yes votes) Jewel master - http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5868 - I honestly think this one would have been accepted had it been submitted today Rocman X - http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7597 Little Nemo - http://tasvideos.org/2010S.html Rejected due to known improvements, I think things are more lax about that now Firemen - http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5588&highlight= I think this one might be publishable these days Sandra no Daibouken - http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5522&highlight= - maybe I was too harsh on this one, seems publishable entertainmentwise Marvel Land - http://tasvideos.org/1948S.html - borderline & got decent votes Bram Stokers Dracula - http://tasvideos.org/1881S.html - decent votes & borderline possibly publishable Gruevy! - http://tasvideos.org/1684S.html Gyromite - http://tasvideos.org/1668S.html - classic game (nostalgia factor) decent votes Super C 1 player - http://tasvideos.org/1660S.html - one of the most optimized runs I ever rejected, A+ on tech quality, but was a questionable category Animaniacs - http://tasvideos.org/1606S.html - got a majority of yes votes, possibly passable Claymates - http://tasvideos.org/742S.html - maybe it is better suited these days? Robin Hood - http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5396 - I think this one was canceled so it wouldn't get rejected, otherwise I wouldnt' add a canceled to the list Cybernator - http://tasvideos.org/519S.html - going old school now! And what the hell, how about a movie that improves a published movie by 80 minutes: http://tasvideos.org/2012S.html

I was thinking about nomming Firemen (This is also in the "canceled"). Claymates- maybe interesting. Rocman X is strange and almost interesting- and actually has a decent motorcycle level, for all of its otherwise meh-gameness. Anyway, I agree with enough of your mentions that I'll just say they should all be considered.

Don't know, or really care, if the voting processes has been ended, but I will place Jewel master - http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5868 . I enjoyed the movie a lot, and it is freaking crazy. Thanks adelikat for finding the game for me :P

I'd like to see Streets of Rage 3 have another go with the submission process. The reason it was rejected is I believe an unfair reason, especially now that the run we were waiting for is on indefinite hiatus. LINK: http://tasvideos.org/668S.html EDIT: Also, if I redo the Jewel Master run, I might change the dragon boss fight so I walk out when he throws fire rather than standing in one place, like I did in my test run. It would be nice if I could just hex edit that in.

If the Super C 1-Player run was optimized well, I say then put it in its own category. I mean, aren't there three for Contra as we speak? I don't think there'd be any harm in it, in my own personal opinion. http://tasvideos.org/1660S.html

I didn't forget all of them. I just didn't know about every of them, and thought that some wouldn't have any chance.

Boss fights are just tooooooooooo long. Meh for publication = not suggested.

The avarage length of published movies is around 24 minutes. This movie is just a little shorter than the average. It can have excuse for not being redone. Yes.

This movie is morally wrong. Have we become vile these days? [/sarcasm] No.

Yes. It doesn't seem to be optimal, but we can let it slip away from that stupid grue.
adelikat wrote:
Gyromite - http://tasvideos.org/1668S.html - classic game (nostalgia factor) decent votes
I've seen even more boring movies get published. So why not suggest this? But it's too repetitive. No.

I failed in supporting it. However, I think I'll fight for justice again. Yes.

I'm not too familiar with the technicalities behind these resets, but would the outcome really be much different from a save and reset that takes an extra 5 seconds? I guess you can't save everywhere in Metroid, but at least this seems to me to be the case of Zelda 2. The real difference to me is "saves backtracking" vs "sequence breaks the game."
I can't speak for Metroid, but I have the Zelda 2 manual right here, and it mentions the up&a quit thingy in the controls as a feature of the game. It's possible that it was originally put in for debug purposes, but it's pretty well accepted as a normal gameplay option in case the player gets stuck or, more likely, bored of playing Zelda 2. In Crystalis, the wacky warp is a either a debug tool that was left in as an easter egg or a cheat code added in later, but it is most certainly a cheat rather than a normal gameplay feature. A run using wacky warps is probably the wrong run for the site if the no cheats rule is hard and fast. I'm not against having exceptions to rules, however, and 9 minutes might be a good reason. I haven't seen either run in forever, so my opinion of which run is actually better is nonexistant.

As everybody can see, the decision which runs to revive was once again based on mmbossman's/adelikat's individual opinions, not the amount of suggestions other people did for the runs. Makes me wonder why we even had to start this thread to waste other peoples times after all... To make the best out of this situation, maybe we should at least delete any paragraph in guidelines (such as this one) that state that the "audience has voice", to not fool the people who read them before deciding to work on/submit their runs here? Since obviously this is not the case in this days anymore. Really sad to see why TASvideos has to deserve this fate, being such a great site in the past. I only hope Bisqwit will be more careful in the future when deciding to whom he gives judging powers.

I wouldn't be surprised if your attitude may have played a part in the decision. Simply stated, it would set a precedent - whine long and loud enough, and the moderators will bend to whatever you want. Perhaps if you had been slightly more polite, respectful, and courteous, your submission may have had another chance. Guess we will never know.

Quoted again for emphasis. Your humility knows no bounds </sarcasm>. You really think your run decides the quality of this site. Amusing.

To be fair, I didn't keep my list up to date. Also, I'm not taking sides here, but that 2136, right at the top, is Saturn's movie... Edit: My post no long makes sense now that Bisqwit has corrected his counts. Woo hoo!

All I say is that Outrun should have been restored. But there are 4 other runs I yes'd in the list, so I'm 80% happy. I think the restoring process has been fair for the most part. Now to see if some of those movies are actually going to make it to the main site or if, as saturn said, this was just a smart move to fool people and waste some time while the power is still in the hands of few individuals.

The reason why Saturn's movie was not considered is not because it came from Saturn, but because of the reason it was not published in the first place. Super Metroid already has a large variety of run categories, and that submission would demand its own category be added. But with rules defining that category being ever more arbitrary and needlessly obtuse... I enjoyed watching the movie. Really, I did. But it has no place being published. And quit bitching about judge decisions, seriously.
Kirby said so, so it must be true. ( >'.')>

I really hope you didn't say that because your run didn't get a second chance. Please tell me that's not the case. Also about the judging, someone HAS to do it.

But that would go against the rule to "judge the runs, not the players" again, wouldn't it? I only stated the things how they are in my suggestion here, and people know it. Bisqwit: I don't know why we have to make things so complicated, but here are the explicit suggestions for the 14%/2136 run, with clear reasons stated to them by this people (no idea why you found only 2): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 What justifies the action to not revive a run with 8 suggestions, when we clearly have a rule that the audience should always be a part of the decision, since that's for whom we publish the movies here after all? Superjupi: The rules to define the 14% category are very simple: "Low% that doesn't use out-of-room travelling / OOB glitching" or simply said "glitchless/legit Low%". But that was mentioned often enough already, wasn't it?

Where exactly would you draw the line for Super Metroid runs? (Glitched = Out of Bounds used.) We have: 100%, Unglitched, Real Time Any%, Glitched, Real Time (also low%) Any%, Unglitched, In-Game Any%, Unglitched, Real Time, You want: Low%, Unglitched, "Real Time while In-Game time" What is stopping: 100%, Unglitched, In-Game 100%, Glitched, In-Game 100%, Glitched, Real Time What if there becomes a split creating these: Any%, Glitched, In-Game (also low%) Low%, Unglitched, In-Game (Hypothetically, humor me.) Why not publish while we're at it: Low%, Speed Booster route, In-Game Low%, Speed Booster route, Real Time 100%, Unglitched, In-Game, Full map completion 100%, Unglitched, Real Time, Full map completion 100%, Glitched, In-Game, Full map completion 100%, Glitched, Real Time, Full map completion I've listed 8 arguable categories the site could/does have. If the runs are well played why not have 16 categories? The rules to these categories are all clear and easily defined. Should we publish every hypothetical run for every game? I neither support nor condemn this run, I'm just curious how many "well-played" categories you expect to be hosted.
