Extra Mario Bros is a perfect Super Mario Bros hack by ATA from Japan. It changed a lot, especially Worlds, Enemies, Effects, those make this game even more fun.
IPS Patch(to Super Mario Bros): http://HLMarioHacks.ys168.com/ (it's a English space for downloading)
Because of the old website was broken, so you have to download it from my space. Open the folder of "Extra Mario Bros", you can find "Extra Mario Bros.ips".
There are 5 areas, 8 keys, 5 extra mushrooms in this game, collecting 8 keys is important, there are 2 keys in every area except area-5, you have to get all of them to get in area-5, unless you won't meet the final boss.
Extra mushrooms are not as necessary as 8 keys, but getting those can make the game easier. Those 5 extra mushrooms are: Ultra Fire, Super Fire, Technical Fire, Space Jump, Screw Attack. I only get Space Jump and Super Fire in the movie to save time.
I played hard in this movie. Aims for fastest time, and the entertainment value was great.
The final boss fight is very special, you have to lose time to save time sometimes, I believe I had a good job on fighting the boss. Now the boss is even more powerful.

Do you know, there are lot of cool hack from ATA, not only this one. But this is the biggest hack he ever done, the rest of them are not as large as this one.

It's time someone makes a reproduction cart of it. :) I love how ATA changed the game by making it use a MMC3 chip rather than a NROM one. Btw. YES vote.

This is definitely one of the best tool-assisted speedruns I've ever seen. Before someone asks why he is jumping in mid-air: The effect of the space jump allows Mario to jump in mid-air. Furthermore, it isn't cheating since it's an in-game object which can be collected. Same goes for the super fire, which can break brick blocks. In my opinion, this movie should be published.

I'm about 2 minutes into the encode. Are you seriously going to be backwards/jumping this WHOLE time? It's so unbelievably annoying, and not worth watching the rest if it's going to continue like this.

Good to see you make another SMB TAS. However, I'm not that much of a fan of hacks, at least this one here didn't really convince me... I don't like how this game was programmed to expect you glitching through the wall. Kinda took the fun factor for me.

ok saw the 100% run i'm surprised by the "tas quality", the hack quality is even more impressive and the completion time is just 25 Min, not too far from your run :) i voted yes on your run, but i wouldn't be again a 100%

the walls are destructibles (even the spikes are with the ultra flreball)

Voting yes, this was a very cool hack. Gotta love the 8-bit version of the Red Brinstar theme from Super Metroid, as well as the 8-bit version of the Super Mario RPG version of the original underground theme :)
