This movie is 85 frames faster than my previous one due to Cheep-cheep glitch in -2, and to better wallpassing in -3. It's also an improvement to the 1-frame-improvement submission of klmz.

One New Trick

I had got the idea since I was making SMB_Warpless run, I thought it was impossible at the first time, but then I proved me wrong when I tested -2 stage again.
It was a fish, actually, it was a "Cheep-cheep" who helped me. I've found lots of strange tricks before, but never that strange. It's almost the largest range a flying-fish can get.
I tried lots of circumstances to get that exceptional randomness, few of them worked. Some of the fishes seemed work, but I was not able to use them. It's hard to explain.
But somehow I made it. I had to give up little entertainment to get the right circumstance. This randomness might be improvable, but it could hardly save time, it's quite impossible to get the fish goes 20 frames faster.

Credit

Thanks to GAP(a Chinese player) for helping me a lot on this new trick.
Also, thanks to klmz for his 1-frame-improvement in -3 stage. I'd like to team up with klmz this time, but for some reasons, it's not going to happen this time. It's a pity.
Oh, and SMB_Warpless run will be improved with this Cheep-cheep glitch by me :)

Okay, I need something better to encode after that hell that was 'Shadow of the Beast'. Encoding, and personally, I am freaking amazed this improvement actually happened.

Happylee, with this improvement, I expect that there are actually a lot more improvements... Maybe not in this particular TAS, but in a lot of others. ;) I tried this before and couldn't manage too. :( EDIT: Also, congrats on such a cool improvement! :D

Once again, great job at finding the new trick! Also, very awesome job klmz with the improved wallpass. And I guess Phil gets plenty of credit too for making the first run that showed TASVideos that these stages existed in the first place. EDIT: If GAP is also responsible for the trick, thanks to him too! I think the author name might be messed up in the submission, by the way. It currently says "HappyLee's NES klmz's NES..." and so on. Shouldn't it instead say "HappyLee and klmz's NES..." and so on?
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:

Mediafire. DailyMotion. Sorry the encode took so long, I spent a lot of time trying to get the lowest bitrate possible.

I think this makes all the SMB games that you have improved.

HappyLee, you'll never fail to impress me. You always find improvements somewhere. This deserves to be published.

Definite yes. I am always weary of voting on SMB submissions since they always seem to get improved. Good luck on the next warpless submission.

Wow, that's a neat trick! Now we wait for this new trick to be replicated in the warpless SMB1 run... Yes vote.

When doing our warpless SMB movie I spent many hours attempting the following things: 3-2 inside floor improvement verdict: impossible to save time 3-3 using elevator to get in floor verdict: impossible using a cheap cheap to get in floor verdict: impossible All of these have been done by HappyLee at this point. Wow.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Can't watch now (at work, movie sites blocked, grr) but would like to voice the following theory: HappyLee is actually a bot running the following pseudo-code indefinitely on faster and faster hardware:
foreach PUBLISHED_MOVIES where ROM_NAME like "Super Mario Bros."
  if PLAYER_NAME is not "HappyLee"
    while isNotImproved(MOVIE) tryCrapNoOneCouldEverThinkOf(MOVIE);
    submit(MOVIE, "HappyLee");
    ENGLISH_ABILITY += 1;
  end
end

Can I have that in ASM? Or NES based controller input somehow corresponding to the Brainfuck programming language.

Woah, that was very sweet, I read the video description and it said there was a cheep-cheep trick, but I didn't think it would be a trick like that. Lookig forward to the warpless run with this trick. Yes vote for sure btw

Just wanted to note that in the warpless this should be possible in both 2-3 and 7-3 = 168 frame improvement.

I think that could be more, because if we use a big body on that cute little fish, we could save 6 frames or more. Well, that's going to need a lot of testing.
