Plot

"Welcome, Alex. You are a prince from the country of Radaxian, who was kidnapped by evil men when you were but a small boy. Your native land is now being grossly misgoverned by the tyrant, Janken the great. Your mission is to save the populace from him."

About the run

Another Alex Kidd run finished. This was harder to tas than Alex Kidd in shinobi world. We would like to thank FODA for his test wip which sometimes served us as guidance. Sonikkustar did most of the run so thank you Sonikkustar. Now enjoy ladies ^_^
mmbossman: Annoying text boxes and rock/paper/scissors aside, this was pretty entertaining and well done. Accepting.

A decidedly quirky game (who else fights bosses by playing rock, paper, scissors)? Although a good deal of the gameplay is just stock platforming, there's enough moments that don't fit this (the motorbike and helicopter, for example) to make this game seem just fast paced enough to be entertaining. Also, I saw no obvious technical flaws. Nice one! I'd like a little more explanation about the run. For instance, in the stage after the guy explains you're from Radaxian and so on, why do you lose the helicopter thing and proceed in the water? (You also do the same thing with the first motorboat stage.) Also, you have to wait a while for some flames in the first castle stage... is it still faster to wait than to get and use an invicibility powerup? Anyway, nice job! It also seems like this game plays back twice as fast as the speedrun on SDA, for some reason.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! Cause it takes more time to complete those stages via helicopter and boat than crashing and swimming.

I find it awkward. This is the second time it has happened. I am quite sure I did not repeat my previous mistake from my Alex Kidd in Shinobi world submission but I guess I did? Anyway, I fixed it, thank you again for noticing it.
