Thank you, I jsut watched looks really impressive. Is he still working on it? And is he going to submit it, or is it just for fun, since he posted it on his blog and not on this site

He's working and going to submit it. He took over their work from tasvideos smw crew two years ago. The reason why he posted nothing on this site is just that he's a shy boy I think.

I thought he can't speak English. I admire him a lot.
Recent projects: SMB warpless TAS (2018), SMB warpless walkathon (2019), SMB something never done before (2019), Extra Mario Bros. (best ending) (2020).
Don't forget "V", he's also great. Japanese can sure TAS SMW well, they have got 3 best SMW TASers ever.

Hello there Henpaku here
I am very new to this forum and only recently found out about the TAS website.
I am currently trying to make a TAS of a SMW hack that i obtained from Nicovideo, purely for my own enjoyment ( if anyone wants to see it later on im very happy to show it off :) )
anyway to my problem at hand, I have been trying to accomplish wall jumping in game, and have not been very succesfull.
I found a brief guide in the game resources section about walljumping and even a youtube tutorial online. so at the very least i can sometimes pull off a wall jump.
My problem is that for the level where I want to wall jump, i need to keep climbing up the wall, like megaman does, and while i can (sometimes ) do a walljump, i cant seem to wall jump on the same wall over and over.
Does anyone have any more detailed information about the mechanics of wall jumping? especially if i want to wall jump again on the same wall. ive searched the forum for a while, but this place is huge, i'm not having much luck :/

If you aren't already, I highly recommend that you watch the following memory addresses:
http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/SNES/SuperMarioWorld.html#UefulMemoryAddree
Firstly, you should know that wall jumps can only be performed where 2 blocks meet. All blocks in this game are 16 pixels high (and wide), so the boundaries occur whenever the Y position address ends in a 0 (if viewed as a hexadecimal). Also, you need an X speed of at least 33 to 'snag the wall'.
You'll want to know where on the wall you can you wall jump. Sometimes it's obvious; if the wall is made of grey stone blocks or those yellow turning ones, for example, it's obvious where the block boundaries are. If the wall looks continuous, you'll want to jump to roughly the height you want to jump from and look for a close Y position value that ends in a 0.
A good strategy for actually doing the wall jump is to first jump too high. Jump so that when you hit the wall (and your speed drops very close to 0), you're slightly higher than the block boundary. Keep altering your jump so that you get closer and closer to the boundary, but don't hit the wall below it. You may snag the wall just by altering your jump, but if not you'll need to play with your speed.
Don't change your jump now. At some random point as you approach the wall, lower your speed slightly. If you're doing the hopping glitch, press right for a frame so that your speed decreases by 1 unit. Now check what your Y position is like when you hit the wall. If you're still too high, you'll want to slow down earlier. For example, if you pressed right to slow down on frame n, try doing it on frame n-1. Conversely, if by slowing down you're now too low, try doing it a frame later.
If pressing right for 1 frame doesn't work on any frame, try pressing right for 2 frames. From this point onward it's largely trial and error, guesswork and a bit of luck. Keep trying and you should get it without too much pain. :)
As for consecutive wall jumps on the same wall, the best you can do is to jump away from the wall and back again 2 blocks higher. Firstly, remember that you need to jump back with a speed of at least 33. There's a great example of consecutive wall jumps by Mister:

Thanks for the reply, that video you gave me is a really good reference
I have questions about the 33 speed thing though,
Ive seen a TAS where mario was hugging this pipe, and wall jumping.
In other words he didnt back away from the wall like what would normally happen
I can show you the video ( but i gota go find it first >< i lost the link)
how do you suppose that guy did that?
It was a quick double jump to scale the pipe, first a walljump, then while sticking to the pipe, jumping again.
Mario flew into the pipe going right, facing left as he did the walljumping ( and holding a green shell) then when he scaled the pipe, he continued right

If it was in a hack, it 'may' have been a custom block like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9-PFqBqnHE
This doesn't look very much what you described though. A video would be helpful. :)
haha nice hack, but no the wall jump im talking about didnt include a custom block, it was a totally legit walljump... ( maybe i should take back legit though since its questionable)
sorry for not providing the video link though, im still looking, and been kinda lazy looking for it too cuz im drawing anime comics and making tas's that no ones going to bother watching and all that crap, ill definatly put it up soon, then maybe someone can tell me what the heck is going on in there
increase the number of sprites alive up to its limit in the level.
when a particular type of sprite (such as a goal bar) appears in the situation, the existing sprite of the same id # vanishes.
if yoshi is about to eat the vanishing sprite, the old sprite is replaced by the new one, or in other words the newer sprite appears on yoshi's tongue.
/The description above is somewhat wrong. I'll modify it later. [2010/09/23 22:04 JST]
//The glitch has now been explained in this post. Please check it out. [2010/09/26 21:15 JST]
Please do not upload an encode of this movie to nicovideo. He'll do if he needs. When you upload it to the other places, could you add the above note in the description. Thank you.

Impressions as I watch..
WTF? Dragon Coin glitch? That's insane! Damn clever to boot!
Fist Pump Mario in the 1st Castle 4TW!
HAHAH! Awesome flapping to the music in Donut Secret 1!
Donut Plains 2, the first run totally rocked! Now THAT was a performance! The 2nd time was just freaking genius!
Vanilla Dome 2, first run... WTF?!
Soda Lake ending - Olé!!
Star World 3 - Just how much faster IS that level ender, because that was wow!
Star World 1, second run... DAMN! That was TOTAL genius!
Groovy - Seriously... WTF??!!?!?! My jaw literally dropped and I looked totally o.O???
Damn... I am honestly disappointed that I watched this... only because now I WANT MORE!! I can't wait for the final product to come forth! This game just got totally taken to the next level... one I never knew possible.

<OmnipotentEntity> How do you people get bored in the span of 10 seconds? Worst ADD ever.
Wow, that was pretty cool! Is the screen-scrolling early-ending thing something that could be done in other, earlier levels?
The sheer absurdity of glitching a Yoshi Wing in order to finish so many levels so swiftly is really amusing. :)
Wow! That was amazing. I don't have the time to elaborate right now because I need to rush off to work, a bit late already, because I could not stop watching. :D
Cheers and good luck with the rest.
Thanks for the encode, OmnipotentEntity!
Great run so far. Star World 4 #1 -- You think he's going to the secret exit and... he grabs the yoshi wings! Nice to see the dragon coin glitch exploited in such creative ways, and the new sprite glitch is fantastic too. :D
There's a glitch @ "Yoshi's Island 2" level [and other levels too] that i think it's already discovered: if you duplicate yoshi and you ride while something damages you (and leave yoshi who runs towards the goalie and touches the level's border) then you will instantly ride the invisible yoshi [without changing mario's position ----> you will fall down the floor if you don't jump before the "yoshi change"]
Please confirm this, since i can't perform the "duplicating the question blocks" trick.

A new glitch, which changes a sprite, is used in GROOVY and FUNKY. He's now improving FUNKY due to a new strategy with a dragon coin glitch used.
Can that sprite changing glitch (where the goal is moved closer) be used in any earlier levels? It looks like it can, since in the two last levels it's in, the conditions for doing it don't look unique to those two levels. I just feel like the discovery of that glitch would mean another entire redo to add it into every stage it can be done in.
