To kill this showboating of topic for individual users, I'm creating a catch-all thread.
Address the user you wish to ask, and ask the question in this thread.
Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.
I'm sciencing as fast as I can !

Dear DarkKobold, Why couldnt we just have one thread for each user? It would be much more organized since people would know which user someone is asking depending o the subject name.
Besides, its not like the site will be flodded or anything.

Oh, uh, one quick last other question... do you (meaning anyone) know how to get the IPX protocol working in Windows 7 64-bit? Google is totally useless for this question.
I don't hate individualism. I dislike egotistical showboating, with each user thinking they deserve their own thread.
I like that picture, if it is any consolation.
In the last hour, there have been three new topics Ask X, in the past 3 days, there have been a total of 5... That starts to look like a flood.
This isn't my thread, btw.
Dear Brushy, how do you feel about the new topic?
Dear BrandonE, that avatar is very ugly to me, but you say it is from some album. What is the band and album? would I like their music?

It is King Crimson's "In the Court of the Crimson King." I'd give them a shot, though understand that all of their albums are radically different from one another, so it'd be hard to judge them off of just one of them.
Dear Dada
I've been meaning to ask you - is your avatar from transport tycoon or railroad tycoon? I played the crap outta the former!

Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Actually, the open source recreation of it: http://openttd.com/
You absolutely have to give it a try sometime. This open source version has different graphics and sounds but you can put the originals in there too.
Built a ton of stuff with this game (that's actually an old screenshot from about halfway through).
Dear Horticulturalist,
Why are you such a debbie downer? Five topics is hardly a flood. In the past, the Fabian and Bisqwit Ask topics also created copycats, and the uninteresting ones quickly faded to obscurity, while the ones that were potentially worthwhile led to some discussion that many people found interesting. There is no need to lock the copycats, they will die on their own.
I don't think there has been any of this. Just people who are super bad at being funny.
PS: The "Don't Ask Deign" topic is one of the best things to happen to OT this year. And you locked it! :(
PPS: Deigh
Dear me, what has this forum come to?

Yeah, this is just a fad. Let it happen, it will pass and nobody will be bothered by it. I honestly cannot understand why anyone would want to rise up and valiantly combat the unruly flood of "ask me" topics.
A forum moderator's raison d'être is mainly to ensure that discussions are on-track, devoid of obnoxious bickering between specific members, to encourage thoughtful discussion and to participate in a constructive way. Other than that they should just kind of let things happen and not take action unless it becomes clear that people are bothered by someone or something.

Just that particular one, mainly because he's from Quebec (and thus, a dirty, dirty, dirty Frenchman).
But if you say 'eh' a lot, I'd probably consider you an annoying Canadian as well.

My dear Patryk1023:
I have not worked on a TAS for around 8 months. I was working on a superhero game for the SMS, but Dega is so full of bugs I ran out of fly-swatters, and I had to quit. That, and I lost interest. But it's half done, and I will get it done sometime!
Dear mmbossman,
Do you feel that the April Fools submission 'joke' has been taken too far this year, with the number of 'joke' submissions being excessive in comparison to previous years? (and arguably, unfunny)
