I wish that for once in their lives the creator team dared to break the holy unwritten rule of Status Quo Is God and actually allow the crusaders to get their marks. Be radical, be innovative, be progressive, break the rules. Dare to be different. Do not always follow the leader and established conventions. A hopeless cause, though. The rule is too holy to be broken. Ever.

can anybody tell me y do u guys watch this cartoon,i mean its colorful ponies, what else?isn't it just plain retarded?i used to watch fairy godparents and spongebob until a few years ago,but now i just see it as childish
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

It's very stimulating to the psyche, there's a community around it and it's normal to defend what's stimulating to the psyche. There's bright colors, big eyes, girly voices, magical powers, characters to like more than others and everything's cute. As opposed to Spongebob, I think this is way more stimulating for adult males.

Is there a reason we shouldn't? If I like a show, I watch it. Why shouldn't I? Screw any artificial preconceived notions of what kind of hobbies an "adult" should or shouldn't have. Screw conformity.

Can't wait for the finale tomorrow. My prediction for the "deep dark secret" is such: Cadence is actually the daughter of Discord. She's secretly seeking to bring her father back to life. Shining Armor happens to be a guard of where Discord is being held now, so the wedding is a ploy. Just a very wild guess and I'll probably be way off, but who cares!

I see your spelling, punctuation, and syntax as childish. We've got some smart and esteemed members of our little community watching this "show for little girls", so would be wise to inquire about it respectfully.

Except I don't really watch the show... It's darn fun to talk about it, but I don't watch it.

You weren't far off: The Queen of the Changelings took the form of Cadence and imprisoned Cadence in the caves under Canterlot so that she could sap the love of Shining Armor, weaken his protective barrier around the city, conquer it with the help of her own subjects, and use the former capital as a base to conquer the rest of Equestria to sap all the ponies' love; she sent Twilight Sparkle to the caves too once she found out too much about the evil nature of what turned out to be a fake Cadence (although she just thought she had become a royal bitch unworthy of her brother's love), but the magical powerhouse was able to free herself and the real Cadence from the caves to start unravelling the Queen's evil plan. In the process, the Queen, after showing her true form, actually did manage to incapacitate Celestia and then break the barrier.

I thought the finale could be a bit scary for little girls. Which got me thinking: I wonder how much background research is done for these types of shows so that the writers can know what is and isn't age-appropriate for the target audience eg. in terms of how scary the story can be.

screw your preconceived notions about a message needing grammar in order to be understood or valid, you didn't answer why you like it and neither did Warp, just dodged the subject altogether. LOL at smart esteemed members.

not really about conformity,it's more about the stupidity of it having such a cult following(this desire to be part of something stupid in a group sounds more like conformity to me),u can like whatever u want,i asked if it's not retarded and why do you watch it. the reason why i question u guys is because i believe everything we do affect us in some way and that includes to some extent watching retarded cartoons. Stupid cartoons might affect kids' social and communicative skills or might be an attempt to escape adulthood for people at our age(i'm 19),just like other behaviors of today's youngsters. Just saiyan.

>Hey look, these guys watch show for "little girls", let's write hate message on them. Since you asked, I think the story and dialogue in it is very smart, each character have different personality and very deep personality which made story and dialogue far more interesting, more fun to watch than those Spongebob, Fairy Godparents, and every other cartoons out there. Music and songs made it better. Animation is very good, smooth movement and they had great attention to details (aside from animation mistakes).. such as each ponies blinking their eyes like realistic, some of characters would do something in background rather than "just stand there and do nothing" like several other cartoons, which made this show far more "alive" than any other cartoon or anime I've seen so far. I'd always find something new to look at if I rewatch an episode. Colored ponies is a plus for me, I just rather to see talking animal in cartoon rather than humans.... I mean Tom and Jerry, Thumb up.. Ben 10, Thumb down.. Bugs Bunny, Thumb up... X-men, Thumb down... Ren and Stimpy, Thumb up.. and so on.. I also like their.. um.. "Anatomy?", god bless Lauren Faust! Hey can I ask, have YOU seen any episode from this show?

When you're a successful show pumping out dozens of episodes, you don't do any "research" in that regard. It's just a decision by the relevant director, producer, and/or show-runner. I would imagine Horsies tend to err on the side of caution. Remember that animator who worked on the show uploading Youtube videos of how animation mistakes were caught and corrected? He mentioned that a scene of Rainbow Dash summoning lighting was considered "too scary" because the sky momentarily turned dark.

If I recall correctly, the show dropped the e/i rating for the second season, allowing the writers to get away with a lot more. Thank Celestia for that, because I'm sure stuff like Rainbow Dash breaking into a hospital would never have passed with e/i regulations.

I did answer. I said I like the show. What other reason do I need to watch it? Could you please tell me?

You are now changing the question. Apparently you don't dislike the show (probably you just don't care). You dislike the fandom. Why do you care about that either? If people are free to like and dislike whatever they want, then who are you to question it?
(this desire to be part of something stupid in a group sounds more like conformity to me)
Who exactly has expressed a desire to be part of a group here? Do you really think that people watch this show because they want to be part of some group (rather than because they... oh, I don't know... like the show)?
the reason why i question u guys is because i believe everything we do affect us in some way and that includes to some extent watching retarded cartoons.
You are free to think whatever you like. Can you answer a question in turn? Why do you feel the need to use such derogatory adjectives and overall be so hostile?

To be fair, I strongly believe that a notable part of the ones that enjoy the show do so more because of the community than not. They're most likely not completely aware of this either. Not to say I think anyone actually dislikes the show and just forces themselves through it just to stay part of the community.

Yeah, there's really no question that the size, passion, and activity of the Horsies community far outstrips the actual quality of the show. Let's not pretend otherwise. There is a certain element of quality to it, but we're talking about an above-average children's cartoon that is very average (at best) when judged by adult show standards. Also, in his mess of retarded grammar and incorrect assumptions, grassini did actually make one reasonable point;
Stupid cartoons might affect kids' social and communicative skills or might be an attempt to escape adulthood for people at our age(i'm 19),
I can't deny that this is very true for much of popular media nowadays.

I think that one of the reasons why this show is so watchable is because it's not puke-inducingly corny in the tastes like diabetes sense (like previous generation versions of this show, as well as other similar shows like the carebears), but instead it's cute in a charming and non-condescending way. Perhaps it awakens a big brother instinct, even though the characters aren't even humanoid. It's like having a cute and smart little sister. Of course that alone wouldn't be even close to enough if the stories themselves weren't enjoyable and, in many cases, quite clever, while still being approachable by their main target audience. (Someone commented on this very thread how the cutie mark crusaders are an awesome depiction of the social problems that girls suffer during puberty. I think this was quite spot on.)
