A short two min commercial for the site would be cool as suggested here http://tasvideos.org/forum/p/3972 So can people start listing a few short things which they thought rocked? Genisto smacking Birdo with a key. Sleepz beating tri with toad. Genisto blasting the plants in 8-2 before they were even on screen. Sleepz grabbing dale. Any big fist from battletoads.

SMB: making a big backwards jump in 8-4 and then walljumping off the pipe. SMB2: throwing key, moving enemy, and double jumping over the big pit in 1-2 SMB3: going up the hill with the plants LoZ: clearing out a room of blue darknuts really fast Mickey Mousecapade: killing pegleg pete That's all I can think of right now. Edit: I forgot one: Lost Levels: walljump at the end of 5-1

Here's two more ideas: 1. Any scene from the double dragon 2 movie where both guys super knee an enemy (near the end of 1-1 is such a scene). 2. The Quickman fight from Rockman 2.

Dragon Warrior: Putting the Dragonlord to sleep. :D I'll rewatch and see if anything sparks my memory :) Edit: River City Ransom: Either the first attack sequence on Simon, or the "grab, jump, toss, turn, mid-air punch to kill". :) Metroid: Skip Ridley.

Quickly looking over the games list, these would probably look good in a compilation/trailer/music video: 2 player boss juggling - Battletoads Swinging around really fast - Bionic Commando Level B boss fight - Chip and Dale 3rd Form Dracula fight - Castlevania 3 2 player flying knee - Double Dragon 2 Slaughtering Jason outside - Friday the 13th Playing around - Gradius Blue Darknut room - LoZ Various Tricks - MM1/MM2 Yellow Devil fight - MM3 Any boss fight - RCR Wall jump - SMB1/SMB2j Double Jump with key/Beating Birdo with it - SMB2 8-2 - SMB3 99 lives from the cannonballs - SMB3 Long Jump - Track & Field Boost from the Birds - Wizards & Warriors Running and jumping around - Solstice/Gremlins 2/Ninja Gaiden 2 I really liked that MMZ2 trailer for the speed run. A lot of high speed running/jumping/slashing around with Zero's theme playing. I can probably put something together for the trailer with these clips and the right music. This would be something fun to work on.

Hmm, maybe it would be best to timestamp when these occur to save you time?

Hm, some excellent picks thus far. One big one nobody's mentioned yet: The Castlevania 1 critical hit glitch. Instant-killing the first boss definitely should be in there somewhere. Also possibly something from CV3, like when Alucard gets hit upward into a ceiling and then turns into a bat to fly through it. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

SMB2j: chained walljump trick SMB2: killing Ostro really quick (some of those parts) Rockman: move through wall in Fireman level beginning Batman: beating Joker really quick Solomon's Key: vertical climbing Castlevania: giant bat dying really quick Track & Field: jumping past the sandbox Gradius: quick maneuvers from some point of the game Background music would preferably be something specifically composed for this movie (don't rip copyrighted stuff!), with the game soundeffects still hearable.

I think it would be best to use a video game remix from a site such as VGMix or OC Remix. It would probably be easy to get permission from the author and also it's kind of fitting with the theme.

And now, I present my latest hack: Sleepz-Vs-Thor.FMV I found a way to extract a portion of an .fmv into another, smaller .fmv. The clip above is the battle with Thor from Sleepz' River City Ransom time attack. To watch it, you'll need my previous hack, and the River City Ransom (USA) rom. And now, for your enjoyment, is the Sleepz Greatest Hits collection: http://www.altvox.com/~squid/sleepz-greatest-hits.zip I'm afraid the process of creating a smaller clip from an .fmv is a little complicated, otherwise I would post the tools so others could do it. Now, I guess I should go through and collect clips of peoples' favorite parts from the time attacks...

Be sure to get the newest hack from the vending machine. Just check all boxes if you're unsure.

After seeing this, the .fmv you tried to open has been corrupted. You'll probably need to download again.

After a bit of effort, I managed to compile a "Greatest Hits" collection: http://www.altvox.com/~squid/greatest-hits.zip Once again, you'll need the latest patched famtasia from the vending machine (with the "from now" fix turned on), and all of the relevant roms. Here's a file list of what's in the .zip. Hopefully it gives a good enough idea of what's inside:
feitclub-goes-commando-(hitlernf).fmv
geniso-smacks-birdo-(smb2).fmv
genisto-boss-critical-hit-(cv).fmv
genisto-goes-through-walls-(cv3j).fmv
genisto-sneaky-peach-(smb2).fmv
genisto-stunts-(smb3j).fmv
genisto-stunts-2-(smb3j).fmv
genisto-vs-dracula-(cv3j).fmv
genisto-vs-giant-bat-(cv3j).fmv
linnom-vs-joker-(batman).fmv
mfried-stunts-(smb).fmv
mfried-stunts-2-(smb2j).fmv
morimoto-is-speedy-(gradius).fmv
morimoto-is-speedy-2-(gradius).fmv
morimoto-teleports-(rockman2).fmv
morimoto-teleports-2-(rockman2).fmv
morimoto-teleports-3-(rockman2).fmv
morimoto-vs-bowser-(smb3j).fmv
morimoto-vs-flashman-(rockman2).fmv
morimoto-vs-quickman-(rockman2).fmv
sleepz-darknuts-go-boom-(loz).fmv
sleepz-smacks-triclyde-(smb2).fmv
sleepz-vs-blade-(rcr).fmv
sleepz-vs-ivan-(rcr).fmv
sleepz-vs-mojo-(rcr).fmv
sleepz-vs-rocko-(rcr).fmv
sleepz-vs-thor-(rcr).fmv
sleepz-vs-wizzrobes-(loz).fmv
sleepz-vs-wizzrobes-2-(loz).fmv
I'll probably take this .zip offline in a couple of days, so grab it while you can. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get Battletoads working at all. The movies kept desyncing. :( Note to whomever is going to make the movie: I have a version of Famtasia that writes a raw .avi file. This might be of some use. It can also be modified to suppress the "MOVIE REPLAY" etc messages. Contact me directly if you want a copy.

Well, I redownloaded everything, Famtasia included, and the FMVs are no longer "corrupted" but they are out of sync. In every River City Ransom movie he just runs into the wall and doesn't move again. Some of them don't run at all.

You should have chose a darknut fight instead of a wizzrobe fight. I also just thought of another really cool part of my SMB video. In part of 8-2, there was a sequence of very hard jumps.

I tried all those files and they work just fine for me. gj blip! Ill try making the avi files with that famtasia version you have (btw, does it record the sound output as well?) And does anyone have any suggestions for what song to use? Rock, Hip Hop, Techno, Dance, Anime, Game Remix, something that you think would be good for a compilation like this.

Music? I'd go with one of the best NES remixes from OverClocked ReMix. If anyone here is registered on their forums, maybe you could ask them for some suggestions. -Josh

Whatever you use, be sure to have rights to it. I don't want to get emails that talk in legalese :)

I'm going through what I have left of my 60GB of video game music *kicks dead 40GB drive*. I'll give some suggestions from OC ReMiX stuff maybe.

Okay. In no particular order (there may be better stuff on there now... I haven't raided OC ReMiX in a while): Faried V. & Leon v H. - Castlevania_WickedestChild_OC_ReMix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00252 insomnic - SuperMario2_Insomnic_OC_ReMix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00268 Stevie-G - Dragon_Warrior_DragonHop_OC_ReMix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00479 (Slower, but it could work, maybe just for an intro?) Grodan Grobi - Wizards_and_Warriors_GrosseLederhosen_OC_ReMix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00457 (Again, the first part for an intro?) Gux - Megaman3_Its_Boss_Time_OC_Remix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00115 slaveone - Arkanoid_c64Vibe_OC_ReMix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00277 (Well, I like it ^_^) Instant - GhostsnGoblins_Instant_OC_ReMix.mp3 http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00004 (Definitely for more of a trailer, heh) So far I'm leaning towards the Mario II.

I thought all you have to do is include the authors name and song title in the credits. You see a lot of people that make music videos all over the net do just that.

Copyright law does not work that way. By the way, another suggestion for background music: Some classical music (like eg. Vivaldi or something similar).
