Post subject: Intellivision games respond late to input

Hi to all. I noticed that Intellivision games respond late to player input. If I enable "Display Input", when I press a key it is immediately displayed but I have to keep it pressed for about ten frames before the input is executed. Is it normal?

Yes. That's called input delay. It's a "feature" to some consoles. Intellivision (depending on the game) is one of them.

I wouldn't have thought of that. So does even a real console do exactly the same thing? It's a shame because the playability of the games is reduced.

It's not a feature of the console so much as a feature of the EXEC, right? And not all games use the EXEC.
