Well, having 4 instead of 6 would be better for the screen ratio, at least for computers that don't have a widescreen moniter. And somehow I don't think that Mega Man 1 and 2 would end up looking that good. But I can also see the argument for adding them as well. Anyway, either way I'll watch it. =P

a great part of the mm1 and mm2 movie are based on glitches... which would be a lot harder to implement in this sort of movie, and wouldn't be any more special than what you can already see in the normal version of mm1 and mm2.
But don't you think that some people would like to see good mm1 speedrun without glitches? While there's one good glitchrun on nesvideos, there's no need to show those glitches again, everyone know them already. Also, not using those glitches slows down mm1-2 progress and makes their length similar to 3-6.

All of the games won't be playing Simultaneously, will they? I watched that run with MegaManX and X2, and it just wasn't very entertaining to watch. It would be entertaining if they were just one after the other.

I can see the reason for not including MM1-2. Four games at the same time is also lludicrous enough already. I'm still not sure if I agree ... but that's not for me to decide since I'm not the one making the movie.

Are you saying that it would be better to make the .avi such that one run comes after the other? I notice though that watching them side-by-side indicates that the run does not do enough action syncing between the two videos. It's pretty hard to do that, anyway. Still, I disagree and say that the side-by-side .avi is more interesting (and half as long).

I say, go for it! This will be an awesome run.

I tried to play all 4 games simultaneously and I think you have to make some sort of no-music patch to the games. The .avi will otherwise be a cacophony.

Audio select might be a good solution if possible.

I think the X/X2 movie heavily exploits the different movement physics and the range of movement of X (such as the turning around by letting go of a wall), both options will be unavailable for this run so how do you plan on making different games move differently? Just running into walls?

The X/X2 movie just wasn't very interesting to me. I mean, one of the runs was 100%, and the other wasn't. I just don't think watching four movies all at the same time would be that interesting. But, it's just not for me to decide, so..

As Baxter already said, audio select is most likely the best choise. Of course there should be one track with all of the sounds at least. But like in X/X2 run it would be nice if the audio from the left side of the games would come from left speaker and audio from right side games would come from right (i hope you understand what i mean..). Anyways, I can't wait to see this project started :). And btw, my oppinion about the 4 or 6 MMs run is four. First of all there's the time difference which people have already mentioned. Second: it would mean a lot more work for AngerFist and Baxter. Third: it couldn't be possible to watch all of the simultaneous (I even have some trouble with the X/X2 run if I'm even a bit tired). Don't get me wrong, it would be awsome if there were MM1-6 run but I'm still voting for 3-6 (due the reasons I already mentioned).
Which run should I encode next? :)

The only problem I can see is that there are some complicating differences between the games. For instance, in MM3, whenever you fight Protoman, you can't progress in the other games (since your third Megaman now has to run back and forth jumping and shooting, while the others do the same thing, and pray the others don't end up falling in a pit...) Also, if you switch weapons for one game, you have to do it for them all, and you have to do it specifically matched to the menu. And that could mean wasting ammo, particularly for weapons like the Pharoah thing in MM4 which is an ammo guzzler. The way I see it, you'd have to abstain from weapons unless absolutely needed to get where you want to go (like using the Rush vehicles). Another minor problem is that of keeping 4 NES emulator windows open at the same time without slowdown, unless I'm misunderstanding how you plan to do this. Other than that, I don't see why you couldn't do something like this. If X and X2 could be completed at the same time (which still gives me goosebumps), I don't see why these couldn't be done as well.
...?

Physics of each game are quite different. Slide in MM3 is short (iirc), you can't jump from slide in MM6. Screen scrolling times, boss intros, boss select screens, game lengths are different. It's very possible to change weapons without changing in all 4 (screen scrollings, can't change while sliding (in mm3 and mm4), can't change when weapon is on the screen (in mm3 and mm4)). This is going to be tricky. :)))))

The differences provide more planning, but also more options. I think we can use many of these differences to our advantage.

One helpful element in mm6: You can't slide while using the rush powers. Therefore, if you pause the game while selecting, the rush adaptors are not available to you. That might give you more options during menu selection.

There's nothing stopping MegaMan nr.3 from sliding and pressing against the right wall and occasionally turning around to shoot. Or some other workaround. I'm sure they'll come up with something. >Also, if you switch weapons for one game, you have to do it for them all, and you have to do it specifically matched to the menu. This is tricky. But the pause screens are of different length and accept input at different speeds. Or you could switch weapons in one game when others don't accept input, such as during boss intros. >Another minor problem is that of keeping 4 NES emulator windows open at the same time without slowdown, unless I'm misunderstanding how you plan to do this. Not a problem considering the speed that they will be running at. (I'm not sure that it would mean problems otherwise either, NES emulators aren't that demanding in the resource department.)

Unless all games reach the bosses at the same time you'll always have a situation where you have to deal with a boss and a level at the same time.

Yeah, it happened a LOT in the Megaman X and X2 movie, and it's still incredibly entertaining to watch. Of course, we're talking about FOUR games at the same time, so I'm pretty sure there will be loads of weird movements in the three other games while passing tricky parts in one. But still, I'm sure it'll be fun to watch, else they wouldn't think about making that movie.

Even I managed to fight Star Man while riding platforms over spike pits in Pharaoh Man's stage, I'm sure they'll manage.

First thing I have to say is this: Baxter, AngerFist, both of you are absolutely insane. Secondly, how much is the route for each game going to have to change? I somehow imagine that using the exact same route as the standard TASes for each game isn't quite going to work.

I guess they'll have to go with similar levels...

The length of MM3 concerns me a bit but no worries. As always, I promise we'll figure something out. Thank God for different length for sliding, picking weapon in the menu etc, otherwise, it would be pretty hard doing this run.
