TAS, maybe. Console (for me), no. I have an easier time beating Freezeman naked than Cloudman. Plus I'll have the Freeze Cracker which I can use to make the weather pattern snow, so I can see the platforms easier. (And 9-10 seconds is nothing on a console. Remember, I'm a speedrunner, not a TASer as I previously stated.)

You wouldn't happen to need the ice weapon if you're getting the items in the Junk man stage?

Oh yeah. To get the S in Junk Man you need Freeze Cracker, unless you know some glitch. Thanks for reminding me Graveworm. So sorry Guybrush, my route wins.

The difference is 9-10 seconds? Did you include your three second glitch in that total?

I was able to do the Bass battle 1 frame faster, for a total of a 4 frame improvement on the intro stage. =D

Yay for reviving old threads, but I have a question about the Japanese version of this game. I recently switching from running the US version to the Japanese version of this for my speedrun. I'm wondering how the post-level scenes are determined. Is it random? Is there something I can do (remember, CONSOLE) to get the short text more often? At this point it's possible for me to get sub-57 (my present record on the US version is now 57:30), but having the short text more often will help make that mark much easier to reach.

You mean get weapon dialogue? Then yes, random. It's impossible control that on console.

AH HA HA HA HA awesome. XD I wonder if it could be used on some other bosses? You hit Turboman when he had only 3 health, and I seem to remember Crash Noise doing 2 damage to a few of the bosses (maybe I'm remembering the charged shot? Not sure). If you could just get that shot off at the right time when going through the door...it'd probably depend on how long the boss's intro dance is though. <_<'

The rest of the bosses we can try was slash, spring and fortress of wily,I couldn't hit them in the same way,in my recall.

Was that trick used in a movie yet? I just learned about it today when the Mega Man Network linked to this video, but now I see it was already discovered at the end of this topic, so...

Has the trick been tested on any of the Wily Fortress bosses? From the looks of it, it might be possible on the first Bass fight.

Thanks for bumping an old thread with the obvious, which anybody could have figured out by watching the speed run...

Turbo-Shade-Slash-Spring (last two interchangable) would be better because of the insta-kill technique which can be performed on Spring Man.
