It's is also worth noting that src has Game A and Game B as categories, not separate games. Equivalent of this here would be separate branches, which whoever makes a TAS for this game can name their branch.

Oh right, sent you a 2022_6 on your TASVideos PMs instead of discord due to personal issues.
The question here is how the said file was acquired. We may have the file right now but we need to have a reliable way of getting the file for archival purposes. Which is why it would be better if you suggested the name of the game from which you acquired the file, so that we can do the same.

I didn't have to do anything to get the TAS to sync. All the settings (dual core, etc.) are set directly from the movie file. Just fresh install --> Load ROM folder --> Play Input Recording worked for me.

So, after the credits and before looping back to the main menu, this game has a save prompt. I have added the inputs for skipping it in this movie file: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638076538525364066 This might be handy for publication.

Quite coincidentally we started working on the same game at around the same time and ever since I heard about it I was eager to see the TAS. I knew exactly what skips I was in for but still everytime it brought a big smile seeing how quickly it was done and ofcourse the TAS twist to doing it even quicker. And ofcourse the movement in PoP Sands Trilogy is always entertaining by nature. I personally appreciate the category choice because we have had segmented runs for Any% NMG and All Collectibles NMG and this one fits nicely in the middle. Yes vote from me.

Thanks rythin for the kind words! Thanks KusogeMan as well. I not sure if I will pick the zipping run immediately, since there are other categories in the trilogy to be explored. Zipless run of either Sands of Time, True Ending in this game or Two Thrones is likely to follow this.

The first couple of mins was fascinating, but it got boring real fast in terms of entertainment, as mentioned in the submission text as well. Gonna have to pull out my Respectful Meh Vote™.

#7096: GMP's DOS Prince of Persia "No Major Glitches" in 18:50.82 There was a very brief discussion about the possibility of moving this to Playground. I didn't know about this thread back then, so felt like I would make a request here.

First of all, this is fantastic! I tested briefly with Prince of Persia: Sands of Time on Windows, it seems to be completely fine for the most part. The only thing I noticed is that during some loads, there are some violet/green artifacts like this: I hoped they would not be in the dump, but they are. But yeah otherwise everything seems to work just as expected. I guess a feature request would be to add the TASInput box from dolphin.

I'm leaning towards keeping Rainbow Edition separate since it's unofficial, however.
We have "Super Duper Mario Bros. (Unapproved Graphics Hack)" listed in Super Mario Bros. though.
That's just a ROM catalog, it's a hack that just changes graphics, so it's listed a version instead of a seperate game. I am not familiar with Rainbow Editon but if it has something more than cosmetic changes then it's not exactly the same.

With all the new information provided, I was able to get the movie to sync. Like slamo mentioned the game indeed takes a unusually long time to boot (about 5000 frames) and throws an nvr checksum error since flash.bin is deleted. The optimization looks fine. The branch/goal choice makes sense to me as well, although can probably just be considered standard run with minor speed-entertainment trade-offs. The guidelines suggest the use of the Late 80s package as the game was released in 1987, but the floppy created doesn't seem to be detected, so the next best choice seems to have been used. Edit: In light of the new developments, I am cancelling my review because it is no longer relevant. My vote however stands the same.

I am making this post in the hopes that it may help whomsoever tries to sync it in the future. I will provide detailed steps for how this movie is intended to be played. * Download https://github.com/SwareJonge/Dolphin-Lua-Core/releases/tag/v3.5.1 * Download the modified emulator exe and the scripts from here. * Replace the Dolphin.exe file. * Place the scripts in "Sys/Sripts" folder. * Open the emulator. Disable Dual core and Idle skipping. Set JIT Recompiler, LLE Audio, Direct X11 renderer. Right click the game and enable "Sync GPU thread". * Run the game. You will be prompted to format the memory card, do it. Close emulation as soon as it finished writing to the card. * Run the movie. If all goes well, the movie should sync atleast for 60000 or so frames. After that it desyncs for me. I suspect that the cause is either some SRAM shenanigans or some emulator setting, but I couldn't pin down what it is.
