feos you haven't mentioned which bios you're using but I'm assuming you're using SCPH-5501 and instead the author is using: PSX_Firmware_U: 14DF4F6C1E367CE097C11DEAE21566B4FE5647A9 (SCPH-7001, SCPH-7501, SCPH-9001)

Much like the previous submission there isn't much information regarding this hack. (It also doesn't help that 3 months after the previous submission that the community still doesn't distribute the files as ips/bps files instead.) So, what is the purpose of this hack? What is the goal (besides completing 4 levels) of this hack? Grabbing comments from the previous submission we have comments such as--

Is there any kind of description of this hack and source/origin in the form of a patch file?

Meh. There's so much more interesting SMB romhacks around to TAS. This one looked mostly trivial to execute, other than the 1-4 pipe glitch, which admittedly was very cool. The technical quality of the TAS wasn't half bad, so props on that, but basically anything in this TAS could be seen in other SMB TASes already.

These will probably fall into either more queries about these submissions instead and probably pushing Playground rather than Accepting, but I'll do my best to go through and explain these few. #6795: Spikestuff's NES Road Worker in 06:11.19 Due to the triviality rule being changed which impacted this TAS, I believed the rules changed enough where it should be acceptable now, but considering that there is talks for it to be loosened further this one can probably stay in the abyss for a bit longer, it's 100% an autoscroller, with all the solutions done in less time than that. #2037: DarkKobold's SegaCD Dragon's Lair in 10:45.65 / #5888: Spikestuff's SegaCD Dragon's Lair in 10:48.95 The first of which was cancelled by the author, the latter which is slower than the prior due to emulation differences... and also the death of Vault. (Basically asking for a confirmation on what would happen to this title in this day and age. Sidebar; I'm fine with resyncing my submission forward to a newer version of Hawk.) #5884: Spikestuff's NES Pictionary "Alternative Game" in 01:03.25 / #5939: warmCabin's NES Pictionary "all minigames" in 02:33.75 / #5940: DrD2k9's NES Pictionary in 01:37.24 The prior probably lands in Playground than in comparison to the actual go for fastest without doing the minigame, but answering the puzzle, and showcasing all the minigames whilst going through it quickly. #5289: Spikestuff's NES Mario Bros. "1 player, 18 phases" in 07:39.79 Failed to reach Moons due to older ruleset where the only way it could be accepted as its own thing was to be Moons, but it wasn't entertaining and it made it ineligible for Vault. With current ruleset in the way they are this should land in Standard due to how it differentiates itself to the 2 player TAS. #5553: Spikestuff's PSX Digimon Rumble Arena in 05:39.26 The reason why this was rejected doesn't exist anymore, so-- thud. I reminded myself of this TASes' existence, if I can think of anything I'll write about it, otherwise idk.

Personally I'm more annoyed that they're not responding back about the information I gave them, where the file presented is still the same outdated one and they're just editing. They canceled the dupe (or original, cause this was a double submission), so you'd think that they actually saw that I was going to be presenting the same information. What makes it worse, is that they actually had a video which existed which presented that they were working on an improvement, but they either made private or deleted that video, I saw the existence of the video it was in my bookmarks. To top that video which the state of it is unknown on its existence. The video I mentioned in my post at one point stated "Outdated" in its title after being referenced. So TrueSnokido are you working on an improvement or did you get stuck along the way and are you now just continuously making edits instead?

So, multi video track has been placed on the new mirror link: But that doesn't mean I didn't make single video tracks, cause I did: There's also two subtitle variations I'm providing here.

Hello Mosaic and welcome to TASVideos. Unfortunately your TAS has already been bested by an existing publication of this title/version: [4471] NES Solitaire by Jigwally in 00:40.93 Best of luck in your future works.

OK, wasn't sure because the game in this submission is titled "Myst: Masterpiece Edition" instead of just "Myst".
It was an update with images rendered in 24bit truecolor instead of 8bit/256 colors and the audio was remastered/enhanced.

Mainly cause it is the original.

Or can all versions' fastest TASes exist all together as currently published movies?
They can be published next to one another, after all H.E.R.O. is set like that and probably more unfairly Donkey Kong. I can also re-breakdown each version again if you want here:
  • PC - PC version.
  • DS - Zips (like the PC version, some missing zips but also a redundant one for a zip).
  • PSX - Broken Zips, you can zip from the start.
  • Saturn - No Zips.

Personally. I really, really, really, really, don't want to see the requirement of grabbing a LibRetro core for 2 reasons:
  1. LibRetro's history is complete and utter garbage when it comes to community, and other emulator developers as they harass, and gaslighting the shit out of them. Recent example is with what the did to the DuckStation emu dev stenzek, which thankfully people did see the bullshit LibRetro was trying to pull there. tl;dr private code that stenzek made was ripped out and mummified into whatever trash PlayStation core LibRetro was "keeping up to date" (it isn't) in this case SwanStation which is an extremely out of date DuckStation-- (where have I heard "out of date" and PlayStation core before? Oh mednafen core!-- and Dolphin, and PCSX2, and PPSSPP) was porting for the umpteenth time which cause stenzek to suspend working on DuckStation for several months.
  2. LibRetro does have a habit of updating their cores-- every 5 years so the fact that we would not to self host a specific version of the Pokemon Mini instead of doing probably the better option of porting the actual source code to Hawk than having a reliance on something "unstable".
On a TAS related note, the shaking makes it unwatchable for me. >.> Abstained vote.

A further 77 frames removed from Blue Chamber. Basically better order of operations. This means that White Chamber did have to get adjusted as it was hit by this as well, but no major change from White Chamber besides a code change.

My personal issue with this TAS is that I personally believe this should be an all answers TAS instead. As the GBC version only has 212 words it should be possible. You also play with quite a bit of RNG to avoid getting repeat words either by delaying the next round (which isn't entirely beneficial when you get 3 repeated words a gap) or delaying your input starting that round (or both). This to me is a concept to something more that could be done.
