It's not an actual hack, it's a spin-off of Half Life 2 made by one of ValVe's developers, Garry Newman, based on Half Life 2's Source engine. It's a mod basically, but there are standalone versions of the game that don't require HL2 to run.
You're ignoring the statement and giving us true, yet still to the point false facts. There is no way you can TAS Garry's Mod for TASVideos. It's an open world sandbox with no story, mission objectives etc. The same can be said about TF2 (to a degree). You even proved it in the suggestions why this truly cannot work because it's stuff you have to do (as in setting it all up or getting the parts/mods). I will repeat what I'm stating here: THERE IS NO WAY A TAS OF GARRY'S MOD WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE. The only thing that might be acceptable is a playround but even that has its limitations.

To people voting for glitch/any, do you simply not agree with this? Or do you not care about the obvious contradiction?
Andy's point makes sense here. Crash Bandicoot 2 Crash Bandicoot 2 "glitched" But we need to think for 2 other branches "any%" and "100%". Which branch actually gets dropped in a sense, or do they both stay because we cannot glitch it?

Basically it's saying a function which it's not doing and for another run it doesn't mean that it could be used next time to obsolete. It's easier using something that would make more sense by having a better meaning to the branch then going "No Esc". It's much harder to clarify a branch name nowadays because we removed "glitched" branch which made it much easier to place certain runs. An offender to this is Crash 2, we now have the any% run titled "no box glitch" you would only understand this if you play or have an understanding of Crash 2. To note: the original branch name to that was "no memory corruption" So in other words we need to cater the viewer (who has minimum knowledge on that game) a branch name that is sensible and understandable.

Error: not enough grammar.
Yea that's the issue of trying to prove a point so late at night that the points don't appear as you want it. I'll try and paraphrase
    - Branch with "No Esc" - Next run to obsolete - Uses Esc to save all crew and skip stuff - Uh.....
Another way of looking at it is like how we have the 1 and 2player TASes. When one is faster than the other the slower one will mention how many players. *yawns* Lets see... Uh the point, the point, right... So calling something "No Esc" and then having a run obsolete it with Escape would put us back where we started trying to figure out a proper branch name. Note: This is all in theory.
Scepheo wrote:
"No ESC" is simple, concise and correct.
I beg to differ... feos' point on the branch name was quite clear. Heck I even agree with his 1 word response to the naming of the non-glitched TAS (Note: I'm writing non-glitched here because it's easier to mention what it was originally known to be on TASVideos).
feos wrote:

If someone want to figure out what I wrote go nuts. Note: It's against "No ESC" as a branch.
(man I love my notes)
Anyways branching it as "No ESC" should be a 2nd last resort and "No Storage" is our last resort.
Anyways I'm going to sleep.

The issue here is clarity. Let's take Crash Bandicoot 2 as an example. We have two runs on the site; one is the world speed record with no restrictions, and the other is a "minimum requirement" run which doesn't use the box glitch, and consequently is slower than the world speed record. This is immediately apparent from the current branch names. So I'm not following why you want to rename the branches to make this less clear. I don't see how that would help anyone.
Blah, blah, blah, Page 3 (and my other one below it). (was waiting on a response, NIGHT)

I'm still going to be against this "no esc" because it's "What the heck does "No Esc"ape really mean?" To the fool who doesn't own the game. The practical which you have created is still incorrect there needs to be more theory involve rather than jumping to conclusions. Let me point this out. There had to be a description to point out what "no Esc" actually means. Yet neither this one or the one famously titled "no Esc" explains what the heck it does in the description. You have written "See the submission comments for more details" the submission only explain Text storage and nothing else on why escape was used. I'm saying "why escape was used" you do mention text storage yet there is no explanation on how text storage works with the Escape key. Submission info or Movie info better mention and extra line or two actually explain how important Escape is besides mentioning text storage. Explain in another way? Oh okay. One of the TASes in this game is Masterjun. Masterjun you're really good at explaining stuff aren't you? Wait the movie's description had to explain it better (2nd line). Another way I hear?? Tell us the magical keyboard input, everyone lacks to perform these certain actions.

I agree with your point but... You must think as a person who has never seen a TAS of SMW or doesn't have any understanding about the different branches. Keeping it at "11 exits" is technically one of the "last resorts" but this is only because no-one was able to think of anything better. To me (someone will laugh at this) "11 exits" means that he completes 11 levels in that set time, but upon closer inspection when watching it back it's really defeating Bowser. "beatsdefeats Bowser" Shouldn't be classified as a branch as the other TASes beat Bowser and then we have conflict with a form branch naming. I will agree with you that it is better than "11 exits" but then we would have to think about other TASes and their poor branch namings. This is why no-one has thought of a proper approach to deciding on a clear branch for this game (as a theory). Edit: Like it hasn't been skimmed over elsewhere. Oh right.... link.... here.

I'm actually surprised we did not have this in the Gamecube section... There was something similar in the PS2 section but it wasn't really specific with the stuff (so not asking for that forum to be moved here). Crash: WoC would be a hard one to TAS especially with the movements, I wish I had better insight with a few other things, I hope those who have a bit more knowledge than me can show up here.

Only just looked into this. Compared to the other NES Tetris is there anyway to manipulate the pieces to get a better order and a faster time? If that isn't so congratulations on the TAS you created, it was fairly entertaining. I do understand the rules of 30 lines, it's now known as 40 lines in the modern versions.

Regardless of the optimization level, I don't think this is a good enough game choice to be published here. No vote.
I say a speedrun would be around 2 mins (due to longer typing and other). TASEditor proved with hexing it can be done at 1:15. Basically it's at the acceptable level of Bishi Bashi and Salary Man but at the lower level of You Have to Burn the Rope. Superhuman but only 1 level so it becomes somewhat... eh.

How would it do that? Magically remove hardware limitations of your keyboard?
It automatically detects buttons you try to press simultaneously but aren't registered by using the webcam to track your fingers, then finds and orders a better keyboard for you from amazon.
for me I was doing s-h-ade-s as input and I remember seeing that was a program which removed the keyboard limit... forgot the name though... and it actually worked.
