That's good! If PCSX2-rr would be allowed one day, or if I get on Dolphin and play the GC version, this could be the perfect opportunity to submit a video.
PCSX2-rr is using hacky emulation to get the job done, so not for the foreseeable future no. Probably when DobieStation will get to that day without the relying on hacks that PCSX2 is doing (and being pluginless). However, that day will take time.

A video dealing with the differences: Link to video This is also probably the perfect opportunity to write this: It's possible for sake of the game to have two submissions down to the layout differences. PS2/GameCube on one side. PC/Xbox on the other.

Considering you took it out of order and set it to your liking and well: <r57shell> probably. I don't care :b That. Let's just play the requotes and rehashing with some of this.

Please, can you describe what is valid point, and what is invalid point regarding emu selection? If there is some section in submission rules it would be best.
Please, can you describe what is a valid point to when people are literally shitposting on this discussion board about a Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life copypasta it would be best. And a note, you dropped this when returning a point just then:

And guess what. All talks about emulation was mainly placed there not here. The point I put forth was about actual discussion on WHY Gens was being used, not tinfoil hat discussions. My points are pretty much covered by those who pretty much said accuracy would be nice with the emulator. If you wanted a valid point to emu selection. Which you were quick to dismiss. ---

Congrats on volunteering yourself. There was work on this being done for this but progress of that is similar to a broken down coaster. (Alternatively build a new one from scratch rather than porting to a foundation.) --- And I'll just pinpoint this one, since the entire bit is just garbage.

Because Archanfel provided his submission list I'll just point it out. He's had every chance to use BizHawk as the main emulator for Genesis since joining the site but hasn't.

Linux support is a great reason too. The push is needed for you folks to actually needs to port it to something that already has a foundation in the Linux area for the better emulator, aka lsnes. Since WINE isn't doing the job for you.

And I write to split the consoles mainly for a simple reason, some of the DBZ games on PS2 are on the GameCube/Wii which means we could have submissions.

Aktan ≠ feos Also using the Aktan method isn't complicated, it's straight forward and a note Aktan isd doing a straight to 4:3 method not organized cleanly like, and to emphasis the name before you read the wrong person's post again feos'. And if you are literally having issues just download the Easy HD provided by Samsara. Which is two topics below this one.

Actual encoders use an AVISynth script. An example of a script (this one's quite outdated). The 4:3 aspect is based on feos' script which can be seen here in its early state. The method I've stated is for VirtualDub but can be translated easily to AVISynth.

Ok, let's go through it. Tekken 3 is a 368x480 game (ignoring the overscan). And my target is 1080p (4:3) for this case since going over that for personal encodes is dumb. Upscale by x4 with a Nearest Neighbor. Readjust the X by making the video 4:3 (lanczos). Downscale back down to 1080p (lanczos). Now you have an encode. Now I can't recall which emulator Astaroth was using back then but if memory serves me correctly it was PSXjin (since you can tell by his Tekken 2 TASes). Due to his different methods he's gone and thrown a smoothing filter over it to "clean" it up. Which is why it looks "smooth", which in reality is worse than having the raw detail.

Probably add a check for higher than 65 for those other systems cause I'd reckon half rate would be better. Edit: Masterjun's edit made me think feos just posted... So-- enjoy the bump. Whoops.

Same methods apply to not BizHawk. You didn't bring up that you can't Hawk. Your answer to resolution was in the provided topic. That's what you get for skipping. That's Anamorphic Widescreen to a game that doesn't actually support it. It's a trash encode.

You asked me this question in a private message and you ignored the answer completely and went here. With a different encode too. I'm repeating it. The current PS1 TASing emulator is BizHawk. For Dumping PS1 with Hawk. For an encoding script that you can use. You skipped the two steps and went for the link to here for any issues you would face after receiving the tools to do it yourself.

If you want to TAS a PS2 game see if it's on GameCube/Wii then use Dolphin to TAS it.

electricslide do me a favour. Stop it. Do you know one of the rules on TASVideos? Don't be lazy. We will try and beat your movie. We should hopefully not succeed. That WIP that was0x and pirohiko has created applies to this for performing better compared to this TAS.
electricslide wrote:
Once the WIP is completed then they can obsolete this publication. Or someone else can come along and incorporate both together. I don't see why we should wait until the WIP is finished when they've had plenty of time to work on their movie and have obviously had other priorities.
Vice versa. I don't see why we should have a TAS that was rushed which is evident by a WIP that was made which can show the case of "it's already obsolete before it was even submitted". You want a movie that was ACCEPTED and was under PUBLISHING and see that it got REJECTED this year from a WIP (before the WIP was completed)? Here you go. (Fun Fact on this one, it was actually real close to Publication, I would know. I was the Publisher.) As a better note. We also have a movie currently in the submission pile (besides this one) which will be rejected for the same reason. This is the movie for the same reason.

No it isn't. This one is for what exists. As for you last "point", get over yourself and quit attempting to save something that's plagued with issues.

Let's not TAS on an emulator full of hacks. Thanks. And if you want a suggestion. It's called DobieStation. One that's young and is full of potential on not being loaded with hacks beyond the brim.

What do you mean by borders? Forced Pillarboxes you're putting in place? Encodes are generally the video in pixel perfect upscalled then placed into the 4:3 resolution to make it clean to how it would be on TV.

Nope. Let me redirect you: Go Here. Let me create another example of an error on YouTube's behalf. A good chunk of encodes created by feos on feos' YouTube account (one of the three) has artifacting errors due to YouTube being garbage... that's what's classified as a report. To make that more useful a list would be beneficial. The course of action redoing all of feos' encodes the effected encodes. An encode error by something that's not trivial should be brought on the page the movie belongs to.

By most games you just meant Sonic right? Where were you when Comix Zone was submitted and you could've criticized the TAS' audio? Oh right, you were praising the broken sound. > The Test Proves This... So-- No shit Sherlock... Let's all go back to snes9x with it's horrible graphical bugs and say screw higan/bsnes. Comix Zone. Have fun attempting to Console Verify that. And I don't care about tinfoil hats much like you don't care about accuracy.

It doesn't settle anything when a movie exists that obsoletes this one at an opening segment before it was even submitted. It doesn't matter that a segment is being redone when there is evidence that this is sloppy. Recall to my first post on this thread and the notable issues was0x brought forth that the author didn't. This movie was rushed and we shouldn't be giving a hand to attempt to save it due to this.
