"Power Rangers" was a popular franchise back in the 90's, with several TV-shows, toys and video-games. This game is a quite decent platformer beat-em-up, where you can play as any of the five Power Rangers. There are 5 levels in the game, and 2 robot fights after the final level.

General comments:

I'd like to start with explaining why Kimberly is the character you want to use in a TAS. She is the fastest Ranger (moving at 2 pixels per frame), her bow has a very nice melee range and she can take out 1 HP enemies by shooting them with the bow. All this makes her ideal for a TAS.
This is a no-damage run. I chose this sub-goal in hopes of making the run more entertaining. Taking damage would have saved perhaps 5-6 seconds.
You have quite an arsenal of different attacks in this game, both in your normal form and in your Power Ranger form. Almost all these moves come to use in this TAS, which is nice. Usually, the fastest way to take out enemies is to first group them together, and then take them all out with a combo. You usually have to manipulate their movement first to make them huddle together.
The TAS itself is pretty self-explanatory. Through out the levels, the screen will stop scrolling now and then and you have to fight off some enemies. After they're all dead, you can continue moving on. It should be noted that the screen won't start scrolling again until every enemy is dead, even the ones that spawned before the screen stopped.
Most enemies have either 1 HP or 15 HP. The ones with 1 HP can be taken out with any attack. The ones with 15 HP are usually taken out with either a "3 punch 1 kick" combo (good if you want to kill the enemies fast to make the next wave of enemies spawn) or a "6 punches" combo (good if you want to keep moving after you killed the enemies). In your ranger form, you don't have much choice - the fastest way to take out 15 HP enemies is your normal 4 hit combo.
The enemies with shields have 24 (shield) + 15 HP. These take some work to kill, but luckily, they only appear on level 2. There are also some enemies with swords (only on level 5, 15 HP).
The movement of enemies and bosses depend on your position. I've found that your distance to the enemies seem to have an effect on how they behave. In practice, you usually have to lose some frames if you want to manipulate an enemy or a boss into a specific behaviour.
I might add some more information later, but this should be enough for now. Enjoy the run!

Nach: Nice job, accepting as first run for this game.

Im surprised nobody has responded to this movie yet. It really is a treat! Yes Vote. Tons of action and antics. Now could you do the other Power Rangers games on the SNES? :3 Also, You forgot to mention MATLAB in this submission.

Thank you! I've been looking a bit at Power Rangers: The movie for SNES. I think it could make a nice TAS. I might give it a shot in the near future. Until then, I have another SNES game to TAS. :) And I'm terribly sorry, but there was no MATLAB used in this run. There were lua bots involved (that found the best frame to perform jump attacks and such), but no MATLAB this time around.

This ended up being a nice little game. It was a bit repetitive, but the action is fairly good. I think this deserves a Yes vote. Also, I suggest a screenshot from one of the times in Level 4 where Kimberly is crouching and crotch-shotting the bad guys.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Got repetetive, but I liked it a bit, because I loved this game as a kid. Lolol. This is a real easy game, so the no damage wasn't very impressive though.

This is a real easy game,
There's no denying that! Believe it or not, but I beat the Zord battles on my first try by defending until the opponent gets his lag and using the dash attack to an extent.
I like Doraemon

Another childhood game destroyed. Only downside to the run was the lack of moves available (or at least lack of moves shown, been too long for me to remember them all). Still deserves a yes vote. Btw, anybody notice that they made Chad look like a certain banned Warner Bros. character?

No damage taken, did not eat the roast chicken found in the sewers...this TAS is quite concious about the playable character's health. Kim looks awfully manly in her pink suit, though. Entertaining TAS. The game doesn't seem to be as bad as one might expect it to be, either :-p

Nice TAS. Seeing you group all of the enemies so quickly was especially interesting. The only thing that bugged me was that I thought it was faster to backflip (press jump twice) constantly when in ranger form. I know the current speedrun on SDA doesn't backflip either. I found the move after the speedrun was finished. :-/

Interesting! Thanks for telling me about this, I did not consider using that move... I ran some tests now, and you do indeed move faster when backflipping. You can pull off this backflip every 26 frames, and your average speed when backflipping is 2.076 pixels per frame, which can be compared to your running speed of 2 pixels/frame. This means that each backflip will save roughly 1 frame, so 60 backflips = 1 second saved. I can see some problems with this move though, one of them is that I'll probably have to turn around a lot, which takes some time. Also, there are places where I turn around and start running back once the screen has reached a certain point, and in these places I will probably have to land and run the last part in order to turn around as fast as possible (turning around in mid-air is slow). Landing from a jump and start running costs 5 frames, so this might add up. All this makes it uncertain how much time this move will save. I'm guessing anywhere between 3-10 seconds. I might start working on an improved version of this TAS sometime soon.
