Rolanmen1's Mega Man Zero in 17:02 using "warps" or "mission skips".
This is an improvement of my previous TAS, improved by 126 Frames (2.10 seconds). For those who are interested, at the end the In-Game time is "6:10" (Yeah, it is longer than my previous TAS for In-Game)
Aims
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Manipulates luck (not too much)
  • Abuse Programming Errors
  • Cancels missions
  • Genre: Platform
  • Genre: Action
About the run
This run cancels missions, with means it uses "warps" to get to the final stages since the beginning, this is the route used:
-Intro Stage (Golem)
-Disposal Center (Aztec Falcon)
-Find Shuttle (Escaped)
-Duel in Desert (Escaped)
-Defend the Base 2 (Hanumachine)
-Neo Arcadia Shrine (Herculious Anchortus)
-Neo Arcadia Tower (Rainbow Devil)
-Neo Arcadia Core (Copy-X)
Note: To do the "Warp" you must escape the Find Shuttle mission, wich then unlocks Dual in Desert mision, if you escape in said mission the base will get attacked, thus unlocking the Defend the Base 2 mission without any choice.
Weapons
Since this run is done using "Warps", the only weapons being used are the Z-Buster and the Z-Saber.
The Z-Saber was leveled up to get the Triple Slash and the Air Rolling Slash, the latter is a must in this run, because how quick it can do some bosses, to get such technique Zero needs 100 Air slash Experience.
Improvements
There is one improvement here, and it's about a new trick that allows Zero to get Saber Experience REAL quick. This is a programming error.
When Ciel is attacked by the Golem and Zero get his Z-Saber, if you shoot her and keep your saber inside her without slashing the golem, you get one experience point per each frame that the saber is in her without any delay compared to when you slash enemies.
What i did was just to calculate how many slashes i would get in the other stages (i only got experience only for mandatory enemies) and then get the remmaining experience using the glitch.
Other Comments
Thanks to everyone ;).

Nahoc: Added YT module.
Mukki: Judging...
Mukki: Accepting as an improvement to the currently published run.
Nahoc: Will publish.

Too bad the new trick mostly takes away one of the more unique things of a MMZ1 TAS, the slashing mooks for exp despite the delay that comes with it. Still a decent improvement, yes vote.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

There's not much to say about this improvement. It looks like you're slashing Ciel for the EXP, and that's amusing, given that you're supposed to be saving her. In any case, Yes vote for pushing this run a little closer to perfection.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

So theoretically, it is possible to level the Saber up to max (seven star?) level, solely by slashing Ciel repeatedly? (While dodging the Golem's attacks, of course.) How long would that take, in an optimized TAS demonstration? Ten minutes or less?

Well, there's one saber lever that requires 60 dash slash that can't be obtained through this, but all the others can be reached. hmm, i could do a demonstration on getting all saber levels, getting Quick Charge Saber.
