There would just be 3 categories: any%, all temples, and then 100%. Much like how ALttP has the long and short version.
What's the 3rd category?

He means 1 category being as fast as possible by any means necessary, 1 category being a no major skip, and the last category being 100%

Anyway does anyone have any suggestions as to how the child route i posted could be improved? Edit: Turns out that bombchu supersliding to the castle right after the spirit temple is impossible in TAS, since the time spent outside the spirit temple is too much and lets time pass barely enough so that you can't reach the castle bridge in time, just by 1.5 seconds though :(. So I'm going to need to find an alternate child route which can be pretty tough considering the circumstances of the run

Rupee Route Deku Tree Superslide to Gerudo Valley Cucco Jump Haunted Wasteland Spirit Temple Leave - learn Requim of Spirit Re-enter, complete - all the way up until Bombchus ------------------- Warp out of temple Death warp to house Lost woods, bombchu rocks into Goron City Bombchu into Dodongo's Cavern Bombchu wall in Dodongo's Cavern Bombchus 1,2,3 Dodongo's Cavern Ground jump to switch with Bombchu + Bomb Flower Continue.. use bombchu megaflip for Bomb Bag early Continue until end of dungeon Kill Dodongo Bombchus 4,5,6 -------------------- Superslide to Kakariko Get bottle from chicken lady Go to Hyrule castle, skip egg Bombchu damage boost into Hyrule Castle Finish Zelda cut scenes Superslide to Zora's River Bombchu rocks Buy a seed from the seed seller Cucco up to Zora's Domain Bombchu megaflip past King Zora Jumpslash into Jabu Jabu's Belly Bombchus 7,8,9 Jabu Jabu's Belly Continue regularly until boomerang, bring Ruto into room with moving platform Megaflip to skip miniboss Continue until Barinade, defeat Barinade --------------------- Warp to Spirit Temple, plant seed Death warp to house, superslide to castle Become Adult Link That's another route I came up with, although there's one problem. Does anybody know if it's possible to enter Hyrule Castle right after finishing Dodongo's Cavern with the time provide? If possible that would involve molesting superslides in every possible spot

This is probably a really silly question. Is it possible to superflip THROUGH the drawbridge from the field side to the castle while it is closing? Not that you have any bombs off which you'd be able to pull it off or that it would help in a speedrun/TAS, but just one of those things that I wonder if it's been tested. As for the route change: unfortunate the timing didn't work out. With your new route, I think you'll have no problem getting into the market, but making it to the courtyard before night... good luck. I suppose it depends on what the time is reset to when you get the goron ruby.

If you used a bombchu to kill yourself at the Spirit Temple (instead of Leevers, which is what I assume you're doing), would that be fast enough to allow you to reach the Castle?

I tried everything including angling the superslide perfectly to backflip onto the brick ledge, and bombchu damage boosting up, but still i need another 1.5 seconds faster or so in order to get up there in time. Haha and no i tried to do a bombchu megaflip through the crack before it was fully shut but still i needed more time for that. After the goron ruby time gets reset to noon, giving me 1:24 to get there in time. From what I remember, Guano's WIP made it BARELY, but I no longer have that video so i don't fully remember if he made it in time. Does anybody remember?

Holy fuck, i'll update you on that. lol Edit: I'll give that a shot, but first i'll make sure which route would be faster, the old one, or the new one. The new one involves me skipping having to talk to the guard and puts off getting magic until i'm an adult and greatly reduces my child route time. But then it increases my adult time since i wouldn't have farore's wind to get around faster. Bleh, i'll need to give it a couple days of research and thinking.

Hahaha, total domination. I have never seen that vine glitch implemented in a run so that was awesome.

Amazing. That is an incredibly awesome use of that glitch. I also liked the things you did while waiting. "Following" Phantom Ganon as he comes down through the painting instead of just aiming where he was going to come out was also nice.

This is a weird question. Is the fastest way from leaving kokiri and heading to kakariko to perform a superslide off the peahat or to just sidehop to it? I have had a lot of trouble getting the angle for the superslide correct.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/320190289/AKA-OoT_MQ.m64 And yes, supersliding is about 3 seconds faster than sidehopping and pulling it off and getting the angle is hard.

Looks good! Is it possible to use bombchus instead of the slingshot on Phantom Ganon? Would a bombchu do more damage than a deku seed?

to get it synch, make sure you have the (U) (V1.0) ROM and mempak enabled. if glN64 0.4.1 is problematic, you can use Direct64. synched for me so far. edit: damn, desynched after requiem.

New way of approaching the Door of Time by Manocheese: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p-Yl6qhGDw Edit: Given the fact that Mupen acts so poorly when you enter the menu screen, this trick should be useless for a TAS :(

The fact that you need hoverboots means it not applicable to a TAS since you'll either need a load of bombchus so you can bombhover into the Shadow Temple and get the hoverboots or go through a long trade sequence as YL so you can RBA the boots in.

You're refering to the wrong WIP, which reminds me. Did he remember to disable mempak.

I was referring to Bloobiebla's WIP. how is that the "wrong WIP"? and nope he didn't.

If you are referring to me, the extra bombchu is needed in the Forest Temple as adult Link to do the boss key skip, so no. That's an awesome trick but i'm sure it only saves about 5 seconds, which is less than I could save by implementing that bombchu elsewhere. Thanks for the advice though

I think the person that couldn't get AKA's video to sync was DaShizNawz for AKA's superslide m64. And yeah I have MemPak enabled and wasn't aware since I began the run when I had first started TAS-ing so i wasn't knowledgeable of that. There's nothing I can do about it now since when I disable Mempak the run desynchs, unless someone knows a way around that.

I first used Jabo's 1.5.2 for playing through the movie, but I had a desync at the sword. Then I switched to glN 64 0.4.1 and played the movie from the beginning, and it worked. I think the issue for people is that they do not play replay the movie after switching plugins.
