that syncs with many plugins for me (tried napalm, direct64 alpha and 0.5.25.03, and jabo 1.5.2) so no one should need a video file, but I'll have one ready in a bit. Out of curiosity, since you have some down time waiting for nuts in the 2-3-1 room, would doing the dekustick jump slash in there (to save the stick from breaking) keep the crouchstab charge in the next room? Not really a timesaver question but a game mechanics question.

I don't know why, but that makes me laugh.

Character speed is definately not the most important aspect of the game.
Hence why he said "ONE of the most important aspects of a game", which it most certainly is.

Anyone interested in working on the sub-hour any% run? What happened to swordless link, his run was looking awesome.

Progress on the any% run is currently on hold.. he's waiting for the new Mupen64Plus to be ready, which has the pause bug fixed.

can someone explain why he couldn't just continue on with his run as it is and then hexedit out the pauses?

Because there's no guarantee that that wouldn't fuck up the manipulation.

Tested it and it doesn't seem to work =\. Would have been a timesaver though.

So I guess this run is going for completing all dungeons with correct child/adult and not using BA or RBA? So would you have to see zelda as child or get the OoT? I'd like to see more cutscenes skipped, that's where you can save 5 minutes a piece and keep the run more interesting. Like there's the forest temple song skip, needs like 5 extra bombchus. You can probably skip more cutscenes like this if you search for a way hard enough.

It's an all jewels/trials run without any use of RBA/BA. Completing the dungeons/temples with the correct child/adult is faster regardless. The Minuet of Forest cut scene wasn't skipped, since it was faster to just not skip it due to circumstances. The Beloro of Fire cut scene was obviously skipped, but I don't think any other cut scenes that I will be activating after that are skip-able. I know they're annoying >_>, but that's where the fast forward button comes in handy Also getting the OoT is necessary, since the Song of Time is needed throughout the temples.

Its faster to skip the minuet cutscece if you were to kill Link just before he triggers the scene.

Does that mean you will be getting the serenade and nocturne? because those are skippable since I thought you werent doing ice cavern/well EDIT: whoops i misread that

He says that he doesn't activate any skippable cutscenes after the Bolero. Which means that he won't be activating the skippable cutscenes you just mentioned. Additionally, the Nocturne isn't required for the Well.

Sorry SL & AKA, you might have to restart you TAS again. A most likely faster method of escaping the forest has been found.

I think they already might because of Mupen64

I would recomend holding off on speedrunning and TASing for a little while. A lot of breakthroughs are being found. But that's just my opinion.

Well, that's cool, but disappointing. The previous way to escape the forest was cooler in my mind.

There's also one more cut scene to wait through now. >_< But less repetition since the Ocarina items glitch won't be necessary anymore..

That video doesn't show how to escape the forest from the initial side...it doesn't show how to get into the "circle" with the other kokiri...still waiting on a video/description of how to actually do it...

The author of the video didnt elaborate on how he clipped into the circle sadly. Hasnt responded to attempts to contact him either
