Purpose:Aims for faster game play time.(with Tool Assisted)
  • 2 Players manipulation.
  • Emulator used:FCEUX 2.2.2
  • Game Title:Mystery of the Atlantis(Atlantis no Nazo)
Play time in 02:20.20
From 1st zone → 11th zone → 52th → 91th → 95th → 93th → 96th → 98th → 99th...and Final zone.
Some special techniques:
  • In the case of each Zone movement, can reduce waiting-time fast when do Pause twice.
  • Advance to the hidden next Zone after a suicidal explosion.(11th → 52th → 91th)
  • Can open at the same time to do Pause at a moment to discover a hidden door by an explosion.(93th → 96th & 99th → Final)

Noxxa: Judging.
Noxxa: Replacing the movie file with a 5 frame improvement and accepting as an improvement to the published run.
Regarding the 2P pause issue: since 2P pause is both a valid input on a first party Famicom version (AV Famicom) and is also internally handled as a separate input by any Famicom model, I see no reason to assume there is any emulator bug with this input. That different games handle the input differently is normal.

Does Spikestuff (author of submission 4668) deserve co-author status on this movie? It seems a little cruel to have someone submit a movie, then go "Hey, nice submission, I see what you did there but I can do it better, no publication for you."

The co-author question is valid, but exposure improved another movie. However, since exposure doesn't speak English, I'm giving him(?) the benefit of the doubt. It looks like we have a frame war :-) Have we settled the question of the legitimacy of the bugs used? Are they just emulator issues?
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

exposure created input from scratch, there's no point in calling co-author for this, just like the other. Congrats, exposure. You improved even further. Temp Encode: Link to video

I'm already entertained and I haven't even watched the run yet.

No. These submissions just aren't optimized to the quality of the current published run. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/22273467269380907

I have still concerns. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=406284#406284 To exposure: 更新した場合は、submissionをキャンセルしてやり直す必要はありません。http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.phphttp://tasvideos.org/userfiles/に更新したムービーファイルをあげて、その旨を日本語でここに書いてください。TASについてですが、最適化が旧記録の域にまでされていません。#3211: Sonikkustar's NES Atlantis no Nazo in 02:23.11でムービーファイルがダウンロードできるので参考にしてください。

Can anyone make an edit to the submission page in order to lead exposure to the forums (or directly to yuigenron's post above and to my post), in case he has no look into here? I guess it is possible he has no idea where to see after submitting a movie, for he has not logged in to the forums yet.
Retired because of that deletion event. Projects (WIP RIP): VIP3 all-exits "almost capeless yoshiless", VIP2 all-exits, TSRP2 "normal run"

to yuigenron ご指摘どうもありがとうございます。 #3211: Sonikkustar's NES Atlantis no Nazo in 2:23.11を参考に改善を施してみました。 その結果、5Frames(0.08sec)短縮できました。 http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/22333071927309624

I'm not remotely an expert at the game, but from what I understand there are secret doors that are only reachable when you're "falling off the screen" due to dying. So the runner commits suicide at that location to trigger the secret door. In other words, it's not a glitch. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
