After I saw longest any% speedruns by EZScape I wondered to myself "What Is the longest TAS?" I google searched It but I didn't get anything.
This account is rarely used nowadays, ignore any dumb posts from here from a while ago.

It's sadly not the longest, but this April Fools style TAS of Rampage is amusing. Every time you use a continue, the game advances slightly no matter where you are, so if you just continue for 7 hours, the game beats itself with no meaningful gameplay. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5400&highlight= If every speedrun category had a TAS, the longest TAS would be the same as the longest speedrun - Baten Kaitos 100%. https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/3s2rk5/wr_baten_kaitos_100_in_3450312/ Because to get 100% in Baten Kaitos you have to wait for the Shampoo to evolve, which takes 2 weeks in real time, it is impossible to complete the run any faster than that. (Time losses are to menuing during the 2 weeks, getting the shampoo from the start of the run, and going from the shampoo evolving to beating the final boss) AFAIK all the real time speedruns that are theoretically longer but have never been finished single segment are so long because of huge amounts of RNG, so TASes of them would probably be faster than a Baten Kaitos 100% TAS. Another good candidate for an absurdly long TAS would be Super Mario 64 "120 stars, minimum A presses", as many A press minimizing strategies require you to perform repetitive actions for hours at a time (for speed to build up, to overflow/underflow water level, cloning over and over, etc).

http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Oh, that reminds me. When (if?) the FF9 100% TAS is finished, it will be the longest TAS on the site - over 12 hours in length.

Sad that there isn't an encode of #3912: adelikat's FDS Super Mario Bros. 2 in 115:17:46:40.00 (just showing until a few loops were done), I would like to see it.
Games are basically math with a visual representation of this math, that's why I make the scripts, to re-see games as math. My things: YouTube, GitHub, Pastebin, Twitter

Speaking of encodes, does anyone know what the longest fully video-recorded TAS is? I don't think I've seen any longer than the longest current publication (FFVIII), but there might just be something elsewhere.

#5076: Masterjun's SNES Super Mario World "ends input early" in 01:33.26 This movie is expected to beat the final boss after the black hole era of the Universe, assuming the console or emulator can run for so long.

There are five submissions that are longer than the longest currently published run (which is [1835] PSX Final Fantasy VIII by DarkKobold in 8:08:32.98). Incidentally, all but one are April Fools submissions.
Six. Two. Coming in at 2782445 frames. Also known in the time form of 12:51:37.84 Due to it being a screwed up submission file, which broke TASVideos and appears with a lower time. And also being an influx of input, which just kept going on and on. #4955: wcgbg's NES Pac-Man (Namco) in 5:08:39.15 Or as the Author states, cause he didn't adjust for the influx. 10 hours and 46 minutes. Here's a corrected file for anyone that cares: User movie #37496821233396882 I forgot to upload it when the author originally submitted the run.

About longest video-recorded TAS, I can think of bisqwit's Chrono Cross TAS, else there is the FF9 100% TAS by Lil_Gecko with the first 12 hours recorded (out of something like 15~16 hours total), but he is currently redoing it on Bizhawk
