Dez: Indeed I did. I hit it as early as possible all times. So I kinda doubt that it can be improved, that would be if I was able to reduce some of the lag when he blows up... Thanks Flag.

I came across a couple of YouTube videos showing glitches where Link is able to obtain a few items (including ones from the outside world) around the beginning of the game. This includes a hook-shot, a magic hammer, even a Titan's mitt. Some are done using the Magic Mirror and ramming techniques at a certain point of an area.

2 minutes of research leads me to believe that those are specifically for the GBx remake.

Yeah, that's nothing special really. I'm not using glitches like that in my run, as that would be a different category.

If the hookshot can help speed up Link's movement, that is my only input here. I can't think of anything else and the bases are already covered.

So how is your run coming along, Tompa? Are you nearing the end?

I'm currently at the Armos Knight fight, awful to optimize... I'm taking a few breaks from it because of that. Have other games to play as well :).

As some of you may know, I've been planning a 100% run. I just finished my route, it will most likely be changed but this is the best I've come up with so far. http://www.savefile.com/files/2169096

What's the hundred percentage based on? Is it to make your inventory full?

20 hearts Fully upgraded items Magic upgrade Complete inventory Does not include to upgrade the amount of bombs and arrows. This will add up to at least 10 minutes of extra time and doesn't add anything neccesarsy.

Works for me. Glad you're so decisive, "what counts as 100%?" debates can last for an eternity. Best of luck.

Just out of curiosity what would the collection of the Rupees for those upgrades consist of? Just killing extra enemies as you go, or abusing some rupee source respawn (Such as smashing that pillar in Wind Waker.)? Looking forward to following this.

Max bombs is 50 and arrows 70. You can upgrade 5 at the time which requires 100 rupees, you start with 10 bombs and 20 arrows. So you'll need 800 for the bombs and 800 for the arrows, a total of 1600. As max rupees is 999, I'll have to visit it twice. There are about five places where you can get 300 rupees, some 100 rupees and 50 rupees. So it isn't really that hard to collect the rupees needed, it's the upgrading that takes a long time, like 10 minutes. And I don't think I can save any time by having more arrows/bombs, so it doesn't add up to anything.

Let me just thank you for not forcing us to endure 10 minutes of tossing money in a pond to talk to some miserly fairy.

Are you skipping the boomerang in the castle? I can't download your route yet since I'm posting from my PSP. I had a whole route planned out with the help of Erokky but I think I deleted it. Yours is likely better anyways.

Generally, I wouldn't like skipping maxing ammo in a 100%, but...

But will the others viewers like it?

To give my two cents: I'd say that, if he upgrades the amount of arrows and bombs at all, he should do it once each just to show it can be done; any more than that would be a waste of time.

Bah. No ammo upgrades. They're just pure tedium and add nothing to the movie.

Dez: Yeah, I'm skipping the blue boomerang and taking the red at once. I also read through your route and the corrections etc. that Erokky made afterwards (Can be found on page 35). I used that route as my start and then did a couple of changes. There are some things I don't like with the route but I haven't come up with ways of fixing it. I believe most are in favor of skipping the bomb/arrow upgrades, so I'll continue to stick with that.

Yeah skip em, as long as you got a lil bomb and (silver) arrow icon on top of your screen next to the rupees I consider that item done.

Heh, thats an intresting twist on grinding. Yeah as someone who is apparently pretty fanatical about 100% deffinitions, I think I can manage to live with seeing them skiped. I had assumed the tedium would have been on the runners part, by optimizing the monsters killed/rupee drop route when I asked the question. edit;spelling

Sorry to make you disappointed then, Paused ;). I recorded a run after Thieves' Town to show how the route is going to look currently. Some changes are probably going to be made. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1203502605/ALttP100%25Route.smv
