Yeah, I'm a lurker. I've been watching the site almost daily for a few months now. I'll admit it - I'm addicted. 1st post I think. I've learned about mastering a game to absolute perfection, and seen amazing examples of how superhuman input can completely obliterate games I've played before. I've seen ungodly amounts of bugs that I never knew existed, and I don't think I've ever been more astonished watching people "TAS" so many games I know on a personal level over the last 20+ years. Yeah, you can't have this perfection on a console. But with a stretch of the imagination and one hell of a dose of luck, it could happen. And maybe a modified controller. Ok, Ok, I know it "can't" happen. But what would the best ever run of a game even look like? Maybe... a TAS? Every single video I've seen, regardless of the forum feedback, has been great. I'd list them here and point out why I love each one, but if you've been here... you know. You should have a slew of favorites and your own input/ideas on a lot of them too. Thank you all for some of the best entertainment I've had over the last few months, and I'm sure to have for a much longer time after that. I'd say names (Bisqwit at least for running the site) but really, every single person that makes this idea alive just rocks. All the different personalities, the styles... it shows through. The individual runner is responsible for this amazing achievement on some kids long ago pastime, and if you follow the runners submissions, you can see their playstyle, or "depth of character". But thank you all... please never stop proving the impossible. =) P.S. They really should have some sort of semi-serious award for this. (Even if poking fun that your "the best" at something when the circumstances are under your control.)

I concurr. It's simply a blast watching all of these videos. It reminds me of when I was a kid and would play these games with my friends. I actually enjoyed watching the game get played more than I did playing the game itself. This site has been a godsend for me because now I can watch virtually ANY game out there and see it beaten. I guess if there was anything I could ever want it would be a section of the webpage which had just game completions. Sure they could be a speedrun, but they wouldn't pass through all the cinemas, intros, cutscenes, etc. These would be videos of 100% completion with every part of the game included. (Of course hosting .avi files of these runs would be insane, but that's what the emulator movies are for. :-) ) Still, what these people have accomplished here is nuts. I think I'm going to go and watch Castelvania now. :D

I want to third that. I've been here for about a year and a half now, and even though I've been silent, I've watched almost everything on this place. Lord knows if I have the talent to actually do a run, but if I manage to do one and have it up on this site, Lord knows I'd feel honored to no end that I'd be up there with some of the smartest video game peeps around. You guys just make the most awesome stuff and I never have anything but good things to say about this place. You guys frickin' rock. Seriously.

2nd post. Woot! Glad to hear that this wasen't recieved by "we are too UBER to need thx" flames.... seriously, guys pat yourselves on the back. There are a lot of us out here that are lovin it. Personally (not like any of you care) I just lost a partner of 2.5 years. So I'll have some free time on my hands. Probably to Code, work and TAS. ;) Maybe as a tribute to her when I get my skills even close to some of the gods on the site, I'll play the 2 games that brought us together to begin with. And Aqfaq, I've got one in the works. I'm just still so slow working the tools and orginizating what can be improved that it's gonna take me months. And on a game I don't think many would want to see published. At first I went for Magician Lord (I used to beat that on a quarter in the arcade years ago) but then learned the save-state-reset-on-play thing would keep it from getting submitted. Not to mention the NeoCD version I practice on my PSP is for some reason INCREDABLY HARDER then the original arcade. Plus frame advance/slowdown/savestates I can't quite figure out on there. So I moved to... Super Hydlide. I love this game so much, and it's such a STUPID game. But the music, the numbers behind it all... it's my attempt. If someone dosen't beat me. Which please do, I can't imagine my old record on the cart of 20+ hours is the fastest. But route planning, the wierd way menu scrolling works (3 frame offset to see your change? is that right?)... it's just been fun to see how fast I can level dropping the coin by the lake so far -thats my skills with about 4 hours of practice. I'll do it someday for myself even if I don't submit it. But yes, Banarak will be on the list at one time. =) Thanks for backing all this up guys - my point is to thank you though for all the amazing videos. And now I've got 2 days worth to catch up on, take it easy it's movie time. =) (BTW that Double Dragon 1 I saw yesterday after the post blew my mind. I remember spending like 20 minutes just punching people to level up to elbow to even try to get through it, and just watching him perfect kill everything while still being one heart from max at the end... wow.) But then again, they all blow my mind. TAS FOREVER! =)
