What starts as a normal
Super Mario Bros. section shortly becomes a clash between
Mario and
Tetris in an auto-scroll till the end, where a boss battle commences in which you need to fill the outlined gap to form a big castle.
v1.2 (released 1/6/2010) added the ability to speed up the auto-scroll, a feature that's available exclusively "for Tetris lamers" (though it's really for everyone), along with 120 seconds for the boss battle instead of 99.
Two game-breaking glitches (since the game's first version I believe?):
- In Tetris mode, when Mario touches the flagpole (mostly thanks to the auto-scroll, but you can still get him to touch the flagpole while you quickly switch from Mario mode to Tetris mode), he can be hit by a Tetromino as he's walking and become permanently invincible for the boss battle. The background is permanently tinted green, even in Mario mode.
- On the left side of the screen, Mario can glitch through walls and ceilings as the sped-up auto-scroll pushes him; I don't have a better explanation for how it works...
