This movie improves Ash Williams' movie by 131 frames.
Like his movie this gets the shortest possible ending, uses fang and uses the J ROM.
Note: I did test to see if 2 players would be faster. But it turns out they aren't. 2 players means each players weapon does less damage. Unfortunately fang's D weapon is most affected by this (over a 60% decrease as opposed to 20-30% decreases for all other weapons). Having another player cannot compensate for the power loss of this weapon.

Improvements

  • A new trick to increase sliding speed when sliding off ledges
  • Better luck manipulation on the poles in level 1
  • Better boss fights in the arena
Level 1 - improved by 72 frames Level 2 - improved by 3 frames Level 3 - improved by 56 frames

Summary

  • Takes damage to save time
  • Abuses programming errors in the game
  • Manipulates luck
  • Genre: Shooter

Those fights at the end were very uneven:) Good optimizations and pole manip too, I know how big of a pain in the ass they were to get just right. Yessir, good job.

Nice slide trick. Nice flamethrower use on the bikers. Big positive vote here.

Choosing Fang in the beginning wastes 27 frames, am I right? I suppose you already tested this: --> Start with Ray to save 27 frames --> Let player 2 join the game as Fang --> Suicide Player 1 with less than 27-frame loss --> Proceed normally with player 2

The problem is that you can't conveniently suicide a player, as that stops the screen movement. You could wait until a boss, but then your weapons will not inflict as much damage on that boss. Either way, you are losing a lot more than 27 frames.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects
