Air is a Super Mario Bros. ROM hack created in 2001 by U1 who, at their time, had firm knowledge of the game's quirks. In it, Mario must navigate through the psychadelic-looking hack with the "infinite jump" cheat, collecting coins and traversing through the airborne obstacles along the way. Emulator tools are encouraged to beat the hack but is not required.
In TASVideos, the first Air hack was succeeded by its sequel, Air 2, due to its sheer complexity and difficulty.

My TAS beats Niftski (legendary SMB1 speedrunner) and Sawyer0622's run by 89 frames, mostly thanks to a timesave in Air 4-2.

Air 2 is a Super Mario Bros. ROM hack created by U1 in 2003, and is the second of the Air series. In the series, Mario must save the angelic damsel who went to "-Air-".

Besides all hidden blocks being marked, Air 2 is much harder than the first Air because it removes the infinite jump cheat from the prequel, with the level design being changed in a few places to account for the former. Emulator tools and glitches are required to complete the trial-and-error platform puzzle hack.

While no longer publication-worthy because the original Air 2 publication was intended to be a showcase, my TAS beats periwinkle's "rough draft" by 131 frames and my previous 2024 run by 48 frames mostly due to better optimization on a timesave I found in Air 1-2. The rest of the input remains unchanged from my previous run besides near the end of Air 4-3.
Overall, an 81-frame improvement over my first run in 2023.
