Sweet Home is a licensed role-playing game that is based on the Japanese horror movie of the same name. It was developed by Capcom and was released exclusively in Japan. The game can be seen as the progenitor of the survival horror subgenre as it features many gameplay elements that would later be implemented in games such as Capcom's own Resident Evil. You play as five characters from the movie as they find themselves trapped in a haunted mansion after trying to film a documentary there. Each of them has limited inventory space, so they have to strategically juggle key items in order to survive and solve various puzzles. There are also quick-time events that require decisions to be quickly made or else a character will die permanently.
In this landmark movie, the efforts of Samsara, stevenqbeatz, AmaizumiUni, and kill_me were combined to create a run that beats the game in less than 9 minutes with all five characters alive. Numerous glitches and strategies have been found and created that break the game so thoroughly that the final result barely resembles the experience of a survival horror game. For details on what glitches were involved and how they work, you can read the authors' notes.
There are alternate encodes that reduce the flashing that happens during enemy fights.
