http://tasvideos.org/1395M.html - PSX "All Stages" Mega Man X5 (USA) in 44:04.43 by Yashar Nasirian (aka. Angerfist) & A.J. (aka. Atma). http://tasvideos.org/1342M.html - Arcade X-Men vs Street Fighter (Europe) in 11:38.38 by DavidPaz (aka. SDR). Edit: Actually I see you said TASer, not TAS. In that case, Atma, and SDR.

I 2nd the nomination of arukAdo. This entire year he has been the most vigilant about trying out new experimental emulators. This was a big risk to him, and a big help for us in making these emulators better. I was impressed he was able to do so many good TASes of these new platforms.

This category was specifially created for arukAdo, methinks. :P I would like to add error1.

ArukAdo hit every system in this category but Arcade, with numerous runs.

3. 1439 | PSX Mega Man X4 in 36:42.63 (coauthored with FractalFusion)
This wasn't submitted in 2009, so it doesn't actually count.

I'm not a fan of this award given that you couldn't do it year on year. arukAdo for obvious reasons.

How do you mean "you couldn't do it year on year"? Do you mean that any person can't hope to win it more than once? My reading is that this award is intended to encourage beginners to make TASes in an environment where they aren't "competing" with the experienced uber-TASers. Of course, it's questionable how much competition exists here outside of framewar land... Edit: my bad, got "rookie TASer" confused with "rookie TAS platform". The latter is rather more sharply limited by what consoles companies decide to develop and how rapidly emulator development goes.

I think AKA is misunderstanding this award category completely. This isn't "rookie taser of the year" which is an award that you can only enter once, as it were. This is essentially "new console taser of the year" which means the new consoles that were added: psx, nds, pc*, etc. Presumably next year these will be seperated into new categories, and not lumped as one.

Presumably, next year(s) would be : gamecube, dreamcast, ps2, wii ect... This might not work every years, tought. At some point there will be years with no rookie plateforms, 2009 will probably stay one of the most intensive on the matter. Hopefully most of the current new systems, psx ds pce mainly, should get theyr own awards, this is depending if the system have enought publications, if theres less than 5 movies for exemple, its likely to be lumped with something else, if theres more, it will have its own category. Sry btw about that mistake Atma (was me), thx Grunt for fixing it.
