adelikat reran the game in BizHawk/NESHawk, improving the run by 12 frames in the process. Noxxa added a few more improvements, saving 19 frames more. Samsara put the rest of the game together when the improvements were leading into desyncs.

Implemented improved strats in two rooms by Really_Tall, as well as an 1 frame improvement found by Tompa. 60 frames saved in total. Resynced by Samsara again.

Yeah, except in taseditor it only adds rerecords if you edit input on a greenzoned frame, which IS similar to loading an earlier state and recording different input. If tastudio does it differently, it needs to be fixed.

Do you mean you're wondering where your movie is saved on your computer? Inside your BizHawk folder ("BizHawk-1.11.1" for me) there is a folder called "Movies" and it should be there. If you mean you don't know where to upload it, you can upload it to Userfiles.

Instead of taking the winning entry from the SGDQ 2105 competition and patching suggested improvements into it, wouldn't it be a better idea to take the time to make a fully optimized TAS to make sure that nothing was overlooked?

Not to be rude, but should this conversation be moved to the game's thread? It just seems a bit odd that all of this theoretical discussion and technical route and glitch planning is going on in a submission poll thread of what is (ideally) supposed to be a finished run. Wouldn't it make more sense to cancel/delay this submission and then come back after all of the teas have been dotted and the eyes have been crossed?

This is what we've been doing. The foundation of the current submission is actually a whole new optimized run on BizHawk by adelikat, and we're adding more improvements as we find them as well.

This is what we've been doing. The foundation of the current submission is actually a whole new optimized run on BizHawk by adelikat, and we're adding more improvements as we find them as well.
To add on to this, there's one last file in progress that's being built from the ground up to ensure that we've got it as tightly optimized as possible. It shouldn't take too long.

I found two more improvements, saving four frames in total. The first is that you can press A on frame 5790, to jump one frame earlier than the current run. The second improvement is here: User movie #24663496504062010 The room that starts frame 8827 is now 3 frames faster, from a slightly different strategy. So hopefully these improvements can be used in the newest run that's apparently being worked on. I'm done searching for improvements, and hopefully this will be the final version!
