An all photos TAS sounds kind of fun.

Should I use AVI video to record EarthBound runs or should I just use in the in-emulator reocrdings and convert it?

In this thread TRD159 asked for a BizHawk version of the current lua script for this game (for Snes9x) made by pirohiko. I was very curious about this game (always heard of, never bothered to play), so I made a version of the script myself, you can get it here. The layout is like this: On the left you find the player info (taken from the original script); On the top you have some misc info like frame counter, camera coordinates and the label for the spawning area (it's a square with 64 pixels beyond the game screen); On the bottom you find the RNG info (taken from the original script); And on the game screen you have an indication on every active sprite, with the format "#slot (sprite id/type)". I'm not familiar with the game, but I'm sure there should be a lot of info this script could display in the future.
Games are basically math with a visual representation of this math, that's why I make the scripts, to re-see games as math. My things: YouTube, GitHub, Pastebin, Twitter

Thanks brunovalads!! When the sprite exceeds the 22nd, it is overwritten by the 1st sprite. Link to video Link to video Link to video MOTHER 2 Lua Script https://pastebin.com/eHDyPHEt

That's really amazing. I'm pretty sure the next improved run will defenitely be under 60 minutes.

If you run it with your hand, eating a sandwich after being caught in a deep position on an oblique wall is relatively fast. Link to video

How much can theoretically be skipped due to this now? In the submission text for the OG run you said to keep the game from freezing: "This requires (1) dropping down the hole into the Lost Underworld (this sets a flag that gets Apple Kid & Dr. Andronuts to appear in Saturn Valley), and (2) beating Ness's Nightmare in Magicant (this sets a flag that gets Dr. Andronuts to ask for the meteor piece). Thus, the game involves rushing through until we're able to glitch-warp, dropping down the hole to the Lost Underworld (and death-warping back to Threed), glitch-warping to Magicant & beating Ness's Nightmare, and then continuing the game like you normally would after finishing Magicant." So does this mean everything else can be skipped since the flags are not important?

Basically, the above flag is necessary. You can skip the rest in the stairs glitch, but you need to run to the Jeff's part for the stairs glitch. In the past we only skipped Twoson, but now we have "Onett skip" and "Winters skip". Threed's guardian zombie skip may be possible although it is very difficult.

guardian zombie skip is the same as onett skip technique applied with those 2 zombies?
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

There is one trash box, two zombies and two transparent barriers on the screen there. Since the maximum generation number of enemies is 10, we need to lead NPC that makes random walk. Even though it is possible, Nightmare will be difficult if Paula does not exist. By the way, if you use the bug that subtracts the present value of the number of enemies twice in the next map by the number of enemies that were on the screen at the moment of the map change, you can generate 10 or more enemies, but in the tunnel We can only get one butterfly.

Piro, are you still working on this? You've not posted an update to this since september, three months ago.

Forgive me for the thread necromancy, but the "all photos" run from RPG Limit Break 2024 uses two new tricks at certain points. Link to video At 50:29 in the video, the runner reduces Poo's defense in battle to the point of it reaching -4095. This happens because, at some point earlier in the run, Poo's defense is already heavily reduced because he has something that isn't any of the "of kings" items equipped. I'm probably misremembering things because I saw this last night and didn't bring this up until now. At 1:14:17 in the video, the runner manages to get Jeff to equip a non-equippable item (read: a Bottle of DXwater) while in battle by using a variation of the rock candy trick. I'm not sure if these will be useful in a TAS, but I figured they were worth mentioning.

I've made all photo TAS while ago and guess it's worth mentioning. This incorporates poo's defense glitch but not equip glitch. (which is called equipment scramble) I'm not sure if I will submit or not. Link to video

I hope you submit it :)
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.
