Super Cursed Bros Is A MODIFICATION By duckthegun0.Made to copy those kaizo hacks but totally Failed Most Of The Inputs Where By BLGHA However duckthegun0 (me) did enter some inputs Such as the jump in 1-3 and the FlagPole gltich in 1-1 1-1 Mostly Same..the bonus room is now castle themed lmao 1-2 It's just 1-2 with somethings moved around etc. however tas does a good job playing and doing tricks 1-3 Here wer are A level no any% player can beat unless without aiison The tas plays this soo good (the jump took 7 save states to do lmao) 1-4 or should I say 1- the reason why there's no 4 is because I am a fucking hater and I removed the sprite of 4.. STILL VALID Anyways Tas Does the bowser fight perf3ctly 2-1 Mostly empti!1!1!1 This is due to a "Odd Interaction" As WilliamFrog Would Say But anyways I moved one of the green blocks around and...ye Tas yet FUCKING did it beautiful Pa.Is there any class which makes me stops glazing the ta- 2-2 Just 2-2 with some things (IN THE FIRST ROOM) Moved around 2-3 Ground is filled up so mario can't fall This is probably pretty easy 2-4 yes 3-1 It's not hard nor is it easy Is just "GOOD" 3-2 not even a single fucking bit modified 3-3 BEST LEVEL OF THIS 3-4 I modified this a little bit To be sadistic and not get politically harrassed
GOOD -1 Nothing special other than JOHN 👍 -2 best Blazit or whatever the fuck it is 8-1 Nothing special nothing modified 8-2 the MOST MODIFIED Vollah.. I was in the discord call with BLGHA When making this According to him : "bruuuhh how do u beat this shi-* Anyways 8-3 Not modified
8-4 Little modified but tas does a good job Thanks to Asumeh For stealing the images from tas and uploading it without BLGHA's permission

Really not sure how to feel about this one. I'll give this one to you both; it's optimized as is. Maybe a better powerup route if possible, but nonetheless: it's not 100% optimized, but it clearly isn't sloppy/suboptimal. (And that's good!) What I'm not sure about is the hack itself. Yes, considering just about any Super Mario Bros. hack can be accepted, this one could have a chance. But I don't know. The level edits aren't quite enough for this hack to scream "unique" in my opinion. e.g. 1-2 was essentially an underwater version of the original's; 2-1 and 2-3 started off as bland, obstacle-less, flat-ground runs before transitioning back to the original level; and I guess everywhere else, there are a few minor additions or changes here and there, some levels even left mostly or entirely unedited. (4-3, 4-4, and W5, W6, and W7 have yet to be seen as they were skipped; I wouldn't imagine they're any better though.) There is a bit of a red flag you missed though: You need a link to the hack that you made this run on. Searches for "Super Cursed Bros" and "super dude" brought up nothing regarding SMB1 hacks ("Super Skater Dudes" doesn't count, it's just a resprite), so this run can't be properly replayed. I could nitpick about a couple of other problematic things about the submission, but... I think it's better to leave the peace. I wish I could let you down easy, but I just don't believe this hack has any worth. I'm voting No, sorry!
I try to check in whenever possible, at least when I'm feeling it. Look out for yourself and each other; there's quite a bit going on.

I'm pretty sure posting the actual rom file is not allowed. You'll need to make a patch file.

Can confirm sync; trimming the input file down to the frame where Mario touches the axe in World 8- (8-4) brings the TAS time down to 11:41.378. Also yes, what DJ_Incendration said: please don't upload actual ROM files (e.g. .nes files), upload .ips or .bps patches instead; if you haven't already, make one using Floating IPS (Flips) Patch link: https://www.smbarena.com/public/hack?id=3776

I created this TAS independently, the video submitted has all of my inputs that I did myself, duckthegun0 did not do any of the inputs and game some feedback while in a discord call. The feedback given was things such as "d+r is good for FPG" which I didn't use. I never allowed the submitter to submit to this site, because I expected it to be rejected. I did allow them to submit to a less restrictive site, but this site I don't want to submit bad TASes to. I could have done a lot more for entertainment if I knew it would be submitted here.

As a person who loves TASing "bad" games (and a shit ton of Myst), and even if you think your TAS or hack is "bad" I will let you know that there is an area where you can at least preserve the input without being submitted to the site. This area is known as the userfiles: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Upload Good luck on your future endeavors. And I will point out another thing is that the rules are much more lax compared to the TASVideos of old.

I do know about userfiles, but I usually just leave TASes on my computer and if I want to improve them I can just find them easier on my computer. But thanks!

Due to their behavior surrounding this submission...
  1. Submitting another author's work without their permission.
  2. Taking credit for work that was not theirs.
  3. Posting ROM links several times.
  4. Taking umbrage with Asumeh attempting to make the run verifiable, hypocritically by demanding "permission" they themselves did not ask for when submitting the run.
...duckthegun0 has been indefinitely banned from TASVideos. BLGHA, you're free to submit your own work here on your own terms.

Dang. Now duckthegun0 can't even submit his own stuff if he makes it, that's unfortunate.

You don't need to defend every user who gets banned on this site.

I understand. This was Duck's first submission though, so I feel like it'd be best to allow them to get better at TASing and submit a run they made.

The situation with KotyaTAS is entirely different. KotyaTAS is not banned, and their issue was repeatedly submitting blatantly unoptimized work. The work was entirely their own though. Duck not only submitted someone else's work without permission, they also falsely claimed to have contributed inputs to that work (aka plagiarism). Stealing others' work is absolutely unacceptable!

Poor TASing was not the reason they were banned. Plagiarism is not tolerated here. You should know this, considering this isn't the first time you've objected to us banning a plagiarizer.
